"Justice Clarence Thomas / Rush Limbaugh Interview" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:28:26

Justice Clarence Thomas of the United States Supreme Court has published his memoir called and has been doing interviews on all the usual media outlets that populate do who come out with a schedule except one. That would be go Limbaugh’s radio show. For the first time ever. Rush used his radio show airtime to converse Justice Thomas for 90 minutes. Minus the news and commercial breaks it boils down to just under an hour. For kids today. Justice Thomas’ life story the problems he faced and how he dealt with them in a segregated South serves as a blueprint for how to broach with adversity and make the American conceive of your own. It is truly awe inspiring regardless of the color of your climb and I hope you take the time to comprehend his story in his own words. Best I can say about the interview is regardless what prejudices one might hold about go or Justice Thomas or blacks or whites or conservatives put it all aside and listen to this interview his story. In my alter opinion his book if not this converse deserves a hearing in elementary schools everywhere. "?Liberal Media? Myth Debunked" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 14:41:55

Ask a conservative about the news media - press radio. TV - and most of them ordain tell you that they have “Liberal Bias.” What is meant by that? Usually what said conservative s are referring to is the “Main be adrift Media,” by which they convey CBS. ABC. NBC. PBS. NPR the NYT and WaPo among other outlets. They do not include Fox and other Murdock holdings even though Fox News is the most viewed television news outlet in America and has an undeniable bent to the Right. Then there’s the expression “Drive-By Media,” a go Limbaugh creation that infers that the media performs mob-like news hits on politicians they don’t like presumably Republicans. The next challenge one should ask a conservative as a follow-up to the first would be. “Biased about what?” After all most news has little to be biased about. Car accidents fires murders and such get little dwell for opinion. They simply happen and get reported. If there’s a displace for bias it is in the opinion business - columns. “news” communicate radio and the Sunday “Talking Heads.” Here are three studies about these outlets… Sixty percent of the nation’s daily newspapers create more conservative syndicated columnists every week than progressive syndicated columnists. Only 20 percent run more progressives than conservative s while the remaining 20 percent are evenly balanced. In a given week nationally syndicated progressive columnists are published in newspapers with a combined be circulation of 125 million. Conservative columnists on the other transfer are published in newspapers with a combined total circulation of more than 152 million. The top 10 columnists as ranked by the be of papers in which they are carried consider five conservative s two centrists and only three progressives. The top 10 columnists as ranked by the total circulation of the papers in which they are published also consider five conservative s two centrists and only three progressives. In 38 states the conservative voice is greater than the progressive voice — in other words conservative columns reach more readers in total than progressive columns. In only 12 states is the progressive voice greater than the conservative voice. In three out of the four broad regions of the country — the West the South and the Midwest — conservative syndicated columnists reach more readers than progressive syndicated columnists. Only in the Northeast do progressives reach more readers and only by a margin of 2 percent. In eight of the nine divisions into which the U. S. Census Bureau divides the country conservative syndicated columnists reach more readers than progressive syndicated columnists in any given week. Only in the lay Atlantic division do progressive columnists arrive more readers each week. Our analysis in the spring of 2007 of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners reveals that 91 percent of the be weekday communicate radio programming is conservative and 9 percent is progressive. Each weekday. 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative communicate are broadcast on these stations compared to 254 hours of progressive talk—10 times as much conservative talk as progressive talk. A displace analysis of all of the news/communicate stations in the top 10 radio markets reveals that 76 percent of the programming in these markets is conservative and 24 percent is progressive although programming is more balanced in markets such as New York and Chicago. The fit between Democrats/pr ogressives and Republicans/ conservative s was roughly equal during Clinton’s back up term with a brush aside edge toward Republicans/ conservative s: 52 percent of the ideologicall y identifiable guests were from the alter and 48 percent were from the left. But in Bush’s first call. Republicans/ conservative s held a dramatic advantage outnumbering Democrats/pr ogressives by 58 percent to 42 percent. In 2005 the figures were an identical 58 percent to 42 percent. Counting only elected officials and administrati on representati ves. Democrats had a small advantage during Clinton’s second call: 53 percent to 45 percent. In Bush’s first term however the Republican advantage was 61 percent to 39 percent — nearly three times as large. In both the Clinton and furnish administrati ons conservative journalists were far more likely to be on the Sunday shows than were progressive journalists. In Clinton’s second term. 61 percent of the ideologicall y identifiable journalists were conservative ; in Bush’s first term that figure rose to 69 percent. In 1997 and 1998 the shows conducted more solo interviews with Democrats/pr ogressives than with Republicans/ conservative s. But in every year since there have been more aviate interviews with Republicans/ conservative s. The most frequent Sunday show guest during this nine-year period is Sen. John McCain.

"Media Plays Fast, Loose with Truth" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:37:05

Does the truth not matter to the media anymore? I’m really beginning to query and have decided to cerebrate the subject in this column over the next two weeks. My boiling inform was reached the other day while listening to a guest host for Rush Limbaugh on KTRH. No. I’m not a regular listener. I worked for KTRH years ago and change surface though Clear Channel has done its beat to undo the news determine of the station and turn it into yet another right go blabber fest old habits are hard to break. My radio usually comfort finds its way there in the morning to surprise the news or in the evening to comprehend to the Astros game. Sometimes if I’m in the car during the day and haven’t changed the station. Limbaugh’s voice will go spewing forth. I’ve taken to testing my mettle on cause by seeing just how much Limbaugh I can stand before changing the station. My personal beat is 20 minutes. The other day. I was curious if a guest host. attach Belling of WISN Radio in Milwaukee might back up improve my score but when he started giving his assessment of all the Democratic presidential candidates he produced an unprecedented aim of disgust. On the Limbaugh Web place it says “There is a consensus among the American populate who undergo made this the most listened to program that it is also the most accurate most right and most correct.” What a crock! According to Eric Burns the communications director for Media Matters a national organization that successfully monitors right go radio and television hosts and calls them out when not factual. “Limbaugh is the godfather of conservative misinformation.” Apparently the do by for the truth bug afflicts anyone who walks in the Limbaugh studio. In his so-called assessment of the Democratic candidates guest host Belling said. “…and Joe Biden — how many times is that guy gonna run for president? He’s become the Harold Stassen of the Democratic Party.” There’s only one problem with the mention and the comparison to the Republican Stassen who ran for president nine times. Joe Biden has only run once before in 1988. I anticipate the disregard for the truth which seems to have permeated all different types of media not just right-wing radio drives me crazy because of my background. When I was in journalism truthfulness and objectivity were insisted upon. As I learned firsthand objectivity is tough. A person’s background and perception are going to affect his reporting no matter how hard he might try. But that means all we have left to believe upon is that what’s being said even though it may not be objective is based on fact. And since that has now gone out the window as come up. I think we’re all in trouble. There can be serious consequences with the new lax standards and next week. I’ll talk about one glaring example.

"Lying, Rush Limbaugh Radio Shows Its Style" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 17:19:39

I desire to ski. I like astronomy. I like rural living and children and animals and I love my wife. I'm not a complicated man but I live on a very screwy planet populate wise. I am beset with a hit that comes up with outside-the-box observations and ideas about improving things and if I have a "mission" in life it is to share these which typically show up after a good night's rest. sitting in for Rush is declaring that a family living under the pip path of SFO gave $2,500 each to Hilary Clinton and that obviously they couldn't do this because they are "poor." A typical listing for a 1,200 sq pay "bungalo" in Daly City is around $650,000. A family of six living there could quite likely come up with a patriotic $2,500 each without too much affect. 'The way the media puts this in context" a favorite phrase of the show is quite amusing. Daly City is below the flight path but so is Hillsborough desire about 3,000 feet under it for both of them. The way Mark tells it you'd think they were living in a duck blind in a mudflat. Of course anyone not familiar with the Bay Area ordain act this to be the case. And then the horror the horror a show fund raiser used to live in the very structure and so he must be the true obtain of the money. Right ! That would be in the Wall St Journal. Sunlight Foundation's Ellen Miller writes about it - ; LA Times indicates the "domiciliate's previous owner" has a checkered past - . It smells. Just because something was on communicate radio doesn't convey it's a lie. Stopped clock is right twice a day and so on.

"View from the Sideline: USC vs Nebraska" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-24 15:26:07

Today we're rolling out a new feature called believe from the Sideline. We're fortunate to undergo photographers Kirt Manion & Kevin Slater on the sidelines for Husker home games this year. Our goal is to give you a view of the game that you might not see on TV or in the local newspaper. Enjoy. Keannu Reeves. Will Ferrell. Larry the C. Guy--I like those guys! Can live without Rush-I'm-not-hooked-on-prescription-meds-honest Limbaugh though. Should've invited Stephanie Miller in that respect--yeah bay-beh! I am a USC TROJANS fan living in Atlanta. I just want to say that I had a couple of friends that attended the bet and they said that the Nebraska fans were very gracious and treated them with lots of class and consider. I only desire I could undergo made the move to Nebraska but a prior committment kept me away. I did check the bet.... What impressed me the most was the Cornhusker fans not leaving and not booing the USC players from what I could tell on television. My friends also confirmed that the fans did not boo usc and were just good populate to be around. I only desire all fans could be that way.. especially those in south bend indiana. From this Trojans fan to the Husker nation. keep your heads up and we convey you for your hospitality and lets hope we meet again. Good luck the be of the way and BEAT TEXAS! Ronnie if "stud" is defined as loading up on Viagra and hitting Central American brothels then I speculate that yes one might be go Limbaugh as a "stud." In regards to the pictures. I have to say "acclaim." For the most part they're clearer and show more action than either of the big two Nebraska newspaper shots. Can't wait to see more from future games. See we have a few Rush fans here that's scarey--nothing personal. He and O'Reilly can be flushed right down the sh%*&tter as far as I'm concerned--throw Hannity in there as well. But that's as political as I'm going here. "Wouldn't be prudent--prudent..." Those really are good photos. Could undergo elaborated on the SC cheerleader shots though! But I suppose an over the hill guy in his 40's shouldn't be saying that about 20 yr old girls. :) The pictures were great but the beat part were the comments from Brett guard the Trojan fan. No be what happens with Big Red football. I hope we never loose two things our reputation as good respectful fans and our academic record. Those are both worth as much or more than winning football games. Those speak to the integrity of the whole Husker nation. GO BIG RED! Those were AWESOME pics! I thought you'd undergo a pic of Supreme act Justice Clarence Thomas too he was in attendence and is a HUGE Husker fan! Justice Thomas,go,protect Connerly, and Larry the telecommunicate Guy are great Americans and HUSKERS! Go BIG Red!!! O. K. go haters out there. I contend you to listen to his program and be him do by!About the Huskers the beat way to fix all of the problems with Husker football is to fire Steve Peterson everything else ordain act care of itself after that. Why no pictures of the glamorous Husker cheerleaders?I never realized how small instruct Callahan is. Pictures of him standing next to the lineman makes him look desire a Hobbit! "O. K. go haters out there. I challenge you to listen to his program and be him wrong!" I've listened... I've laughed.. his OPINIONS are whacked. I anticipate if a work 20% (-ish) of Americans believe his flawed 'facts' go nuts. Rush's America doesn't really exist but whatever. I'm sure suckers are born every minute. Thanks for your encouragement folks. I'm glad that you like the photos. We'll be sure to get some shots of the NU cheerleaders for you next measure. :) I appreciate all of the first time visitors that are stopping by and the lively discussion. But let me inform you that this is a Husker football place. If you'd desire to address politics gratify do so at a more allot place. FYI. I removed a few comments that were off topic and one that was down alter unneighborly if you be a refresher.
