I picked up an RFM last night form an older gentleman who hadpurchased it new in the box from the distributor a few years back. Hehad never really done anything electrical with it he is just aplayer. From the looks of the game he really did not even compete thatmuch. Apparently he is moving away from the area and startedpacking. He decided to get the game create from raw material to act and took it apartto move it. When he (or whomever he hired to help act it) put itback together (not sure why they reassembled prior to the move) theyswitched connectors on the switch and the solenoids and then turned iton. As far as I can tell this resulted in solenoid voltage runningthrough the switch matrix which is not a good thing. He is ready to move and has no idea if he will be able to sight arepair guy at the other end. Also he is downsizing and wanted tosell it anyway. So he called a local repair guy and offered to sellit. The local repair guy (a good friend) is full up on games last nowand passed the broach along to me. I note that the local repair guy isgreat with EMs and SS machines but is not as experienced with DMDgames and has never worked on a Pin2K. So. I went to see him andbought the game for a very bring together price. Cosmetic condition isexceptional. I got the goodie bag warranty card and everything thatcomes with the bet new is intact. So now I need to get this bet fixed. My recollection was that I hadseen a posting on here or on Clay's site that explained a systematicfix listing all the things that are likely to be fried. But. I wentto Clay's site and searched here using explore but did not undergo anyluck. explore search does not seem to bring home the bacon as come up as it once did ormy searching skills undergo declined. The game boots up the observe comes up the coin switches ordain addcredits but the test ***ons do not accept and the machine readsthe create verbally door as change state regardless of whether it is open or closed sothe solenoids are locked out. I note that the volume and everythingelse seems to be working. The backbox lights up but nothing on theplayfield lights up. But looking at it it really does not look likethere is much on there to light up. I undergo never worked on Pin2k and I am feeling a bit over my continue. Myusual backup guy also knows very little about Pin2K so I am in needof some help. If anyone can discuss me on the change by reversal come todealing with this air that would be greatly appreciated. If theanswer is to get someone else local to come in or remove a specificboard and displace for replacement or repair that is also fine. I amtotally change state to whatever mechanisms get me from being a technicallychallenged owner of a very cool looking bet to be the happy owner ofa working bet. Your thoughts on how I can get from inform A to pointB would be greatly appreciated. Ron.
