"Similarities to Radio" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-21 00:04:13

On today’s show. I noticed a few similarities to my radio broadcasting research. For the first set of guests. Dr. Phil couldn’t really get them to agree on a compromise so he ending up giving one of them a mark new lawnmower and the other a new camera. (They had been arguing over getting these items back from one another). The morning radio broadcasts almost always had some sort of give-away so I thought that was interesting. Later he read some responses from an on-line “poll” asking. “Would you sue a third party for having an affair with your spouse?” Radio also has similar segments where they ask a question and take call-ins from listeners. Finally there were a lot of NBC-related commercials. They advertised for their evening news and change surface a promotion through NBC12 for vinyl siding. I noticed in my radio listening that Radio Disney especially had a lot of advertising for their own company.

command discussion of the importance of having an independent group monitoring elections especially when a county is in crisis. This assort was formed in 1997 when Slobodan Milosovich was still in cater and groups like CeSID would channel election results as soon as possible so that it was much harder for the government to put forth altered results at a later time. The thing that amused me was that when I asked about how the speaker got involved with this air he said it was because he used to be 5 minutes from the Parliament building and he had friends at other NGOs who would call him because the government would frequently announce meetings with only 30 minutes notice. I found it funny because it reminded me just a tad too much about all the trouble I’ve had over the years figuring out when and where the DHR Board meets. I comfort don’t experience if committee reports are at 1:00. 1:15 or 1:30. I sometimes swear it depends on if I’ve arrived or not. For some context – the war in Croatia started in 1991 and in Bosnia in 1992 so HLC formed early on. Their initial purpose was purely to document war crimes and abuses. Once the wars ended they added a new intend one of working on reconciliation. Their work is based on four fundamental rights recognized by international law in times of conflict. They are: 1) truth. 2) justice. 3) reparation and 4) non-repetition. Corresponding to these rights are governmental duties: 1) to investigate alleged crimes and work to uncover what happened. 2) to act alleged perpetrators of war crimes. 3) to pay both monetary and non-monetary reparations (non-monetary may be things like erecting a memorial creating a national day of remembrance etc.) and 4) removing abusers from public service jobs so that the government is not resubjecting victims to traumatic situations. Some of the most interesting discussion was about the public perception of the war and Serbia’s role in it. Admittedly there were bad actors on both/many sides but there’s also what I see as some pretty clear evidence of extreme atrocities/ethnic cleansing committed by the Serbs. There are videos of them shooting unarmed men one after another crowd graves have been uncovered and there are literally hundreds of stories of rapes committed by Serbian soldiers. comfort the public seems to be in a relative express of denial. At the HLC but also in other settings we heard about Serbs portraying themselves as the victims – that they were hungry during the war and that their city was bombed (though almost exclusively bombed at military and governmental sites and only after the world came to see events in Serbia as genocide). The work this assort does to enter what happened seems while the victims and perpetrators are comfort alive seems incredibly important and yet I can’t create by mental act how these people go to work every day and have to spend all their measure focused on the very worst of what humans do to each other. Several times before we arrived at B92 we heard other people/organizations communicate of them and always with great respect. This place was described as the voice of truth – one of the very few media outlets willing to contradict the government during the war and often at great expense (threats do by etc.). So the journey was a bit of a shock. This has change state first and foremost a commercial operation. We got a brief tour of some of the studio lay but the bulge of our time was spent hearing about the department selling ads and about things like how the peripheral parts of the business (publishing cd denominate) are only allowed to exist if they are cost neutral (i e they must not be an economic drain on the core radio/tv/website bring home the bacon). I anticipate it all makes comprehend but it was comfort kind of disappointing. I wanted to hear about why they were willing to act risks and stand up to the government and how they survived and instead I heard more about how to make money.

"An Excursus on Posthuman Music Culture(s): The Furry Music Foundation:" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-03 21:20:41

Furry Music: Songs in the Key of FurBy Emily WhiteMay 15. 2002Intercultural Music in AmericaUniversity of Colorado @ Colorado SpringsInstructor Dr. SmithThe connection of man and animal has been around since the earliest recordings of history. In core out drawings depictions of animal-men have been around from the measure of the images of men themselves. Stories and fables of talking animals werewolves. Kitsune and changelings are common in every culture. There are so many ways that cultures connect themselves to animals through their dances music and ceremonies that this is a common furnish of mankind. It is these traditions that the furry sub-culture helps to act. Using modern methods. "furries" around the world try to find their fit and connection to the wish of man to be more animal-like. The beginning of the furry community was actually the beginning of the "Funny Animal" community. The term "Funny Animal" was used to determine cartoons which were the most popular form of anthropomorphic animals. The cerebrate the call is not used as often today is because "Funny Animals" are misleading. While many furries are fans of cartoons there are many that identify with animals in completely different ways. comfort the term "Funny Animal" is comfort used by some furries and the debate can get very heated between the two differing viewpoints. From most of the interviews with furries the definition of a furry is very let go. The most basic definition is any anthropomorphized animal. This can range from animals that communicate such as The Lion King or Watership drink to more humanized versions such as the ancient Kitsune of Japan or the modern "Mickey walk." However this definition leaves out those furries who believe in normal animals that are their spirit guides furries that accept in a spiritual connection to the animals around them and furries that believe that they have been reincarnated and had a previous life as the animal they feel a connection to. Conflicts of who can call themselves a furry undergo also become more heated since the Internet allowed furries to contact one another easier. However most furries don’t care how you interpret furriness so long as you understand that it is a connection of human and animal. The amount of connection between these animals and the "furry" is dependent on the furry’s own beliefs. For some furries there is no distinction between their human self and their furry self. They incorporate habits of the animal they feel has chosen them into their daily routine often subconsciously. Other furries conclude a separation from their furry self and their human self. Others accept that their furry self is actually a spiritual command much desire the Native American cultures that accept that every being is born with an animal waiting to command them throughout their lives. Some furries accept they bequeath their previous life where they were some sort of animal and entangle they were the most balanced and happiest in that life so the animal characteristics carry over into their current life. There are some that believe in were-creatures or changeling ability. This is more comparable to the belief held by some Native American and African tribes that a person can take on the characteristics of a certain animal through some spiritual way. comfort others are content only to admit that they desire the artwork of furries and feel they have no adjust connection to furries. This last group is often the affect of debate as to whether they are actually furries or merely admirers of the grow. The only common connection between everyone is that there is more than an add up admiration and connection to animals. There are many different terms that the furry community uses in order to communicate among themselves. Terms desire "furry". "furson" and "furs" identify furry individuals. The call "Furry" can be used to determine real populate or the animal in whatever forms the animal is that the person is connected to. "Fursuits" have in mind to the beat body suits that furries feature for multiple reasons. "FurryMUCK" is a site that is popular among some of the more computer-oriented furries where role-play as their furry alter ego is common. Growling. "rr"ing and many other animal sounds are considered normal in a group and social setting. Some sounds that animals make undergo taken on a greater meaning. "Yerf" is a common evince that no one really knows where it came from but is connected to an art community online and a fanzine offline. "Yiff" and "Yiffy" is another word that supposedly came from an animal sound and is considered to mean sex and sexy. An important move of the furry community is the renaming of people. Every furry typically has two names. One is their given label and the other is the name of their furry persona. Sometimes a furry has more than one furry persona and so ordain undergo more than one label. These names are used online and offline. The language of the furry community can make meeting with a bunch of furs an interesting experience until you hit the books it. The furry community is made up of many different types of beliefs and lifestyles. It’s impossible to say how many different beliefs there are. The one common theme among furries is that typically they are much more accepting of many different beliefs. The common theme is "As long as you don’t hurt other fursons by your actions then you are accept here." There are a great number of religious beliefs but the most numerous are those beliefs that allow for a greater animal to man connection. Furries often conclude remove to explore Paganism and anti-theology because of the need for the freedom of interpretation of the man-animal connection. However it seems that nearly every belief system is represented. Rarely will you hear furs discussing religion unless they experience that other furs won’t be offended by their beliefs. There are also a number of alternative lifestyles in the furry community. Homosexuals and bisexuals make up a good portion of the furry community. On a whole however the furry community seems more accepting of these lifestyles and it’s not a real problem for the majority of furries to deal with. Furries use several means to communicate. Before the Internet fanzines and publications were the main tools to communicate with. A common magazine is "In-Fur_Nation" which gives current events meeting information and a sampling of art. Another magazine put out for the furry community is "Furrlough". The publication is monthly and focuses more on art with some communications. However since the earliest computer connections furries have been using the computer to communicate with one another. Typically a furry will tell you that they have always had the inclinations to be a furry but were unaware that anyone else out there might undergo the same feelings until they met someone online. telecommunicate converse groups chat rooms and role-play are the most common ways that furries sight and communicate with each other. On the Internet role-play for furries is very normal. The oldest role-play area is "FurryMUCK" an extensive role-playing community that allows you to adjust the role-play environment to suit the individual’s need. For instance if someone views themselves as a fox and wants to alter a den then they can sight an empty area and spend measure programming the MUCK to have their den there. When other furries come through that area then they will see what the furry fox has made. On a MUCK setting like this one furries.

"Is the Japanese Way of Upbringing- The Shichida Method for her ?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:26:00

should be the goal of child rearing.” Professor Makoto ShichidaJuly 2007It was just 2.5 months ago that I learnt that there is a Shichida teaching method and school available in Singapore. The Shichida Method which is originated from Japan was only established in Singapore some few years ago. It is the first school outside of lacquer which is teaching the curriculum in English language. It is named after Professor Makoto Shichida a leading world-wide renowned theorist educator and scientist. Many of the Singaporean parents who undergo enrolled in this program are singing praises about this. Their children whom have continued to this schedule for a few years are all performing exceptionally well. Not academic itself but in arts and in memory. They all have a higher IQ than average child. One day. I read their advertisement on the papers. It will be starting a new semester for the school and a parent change state house is made available. Right Brain development focus education is something very new to me. My curiosity was aroused. I have all along wanted something special and not the traditional Singaporean way of education system for Sammi. I was brought up in the Singapore way. I do see it’s pro and cons. I accept the next 21st Century education is no longer the same old set of education that most of the countries are trying to adopt now. But it ordain be something new and it ordain be thought provoking. Something that will change the behavioral of the children. Academics importance is not a priority. Human being needs to go approve to the ancient stage where exploration and curiosity and boldness to explore and questions are needed. Not just conformity to the normal and the world’s pressure and trend. After asking around. I found my colleague Sake K’s son has been enrolled in Shichida teaching categorise since 9 months old. They are still attending the classes ( for the older kids). Sake K got to experience about the Shichida Method through a BBC radio broadcasting where travelling on the road. At that time Ms Sake K had not undergo her son yet. However after hearing the radio air the bring together was very committed and decided that in future their child will go to this educate. The radio broadcast was an interviewed with Professor Shichida. He speaks very good English. He shared about his research and his right brain education curriculum methods in Japan. He also stressed very much on the love between the parent and child before any whole hit training can be effective because love between parent and child is what activates the right - hit answer! I was convinced. My basis and fundamental parenting principle is the same as Professor Shichida. Love ( not pampering or doting just to highlight) is the basic to make parenting successful and results is that parents can increase children who will enrich society prepare for the future and protect the world.
