'SIGNING OFF'Expecting To Be Sacked. WABC Host Says GoodbyeBecause outgoing talkers rarely get the opportunity to say goodbye to longtime listeners. Ron Kuby decided not to act any chances this morning. Instead of waiting for the Don Imus- branded ax to fall the Curtis & Kuby co-host wished his WABC fans well near the end of today's schedule. In another brilliant Radio Equalizer film production here's a version of the host / mob lawyer's adios: Thanks to mumbling crustmeister Don Imus's. Curtis & Kuby be to find a new domiciliate. In New York City media circles rumors abound as to where they might end up with some having Curtis Sliwa remaining with the station as midmorning host while others believe the aggroup will remain intact and move to morning drive on rival. The latter option would be a great fit for both WOR which has been wisely beefing up its lineup in recent months as well as the unify who consistently beat Imus in the ratings for many years. That's not to say Curtis & Kuby's WABC tenure has been free of bumps in the road. Though both are said to be friends in court during a sensational Gotti mob trial. And while they did best Imus (never particularly hard to do) their own ratings had sagged this year. Kuby the liberal half of this left - right tag aggroup is known for representing and. Regardless of their imperfections. Curtis & Kuby are being replaced by inferior programming in the form of an aging Don Imus who before being fired earlier this year had struggled to generate ratings for many years. Even if he somehow delivers numbers this time which seems less likely than ever it's doubtful that skittish advertisers will go to his program. That's why the Drudge- fueled air should be disregarded: Imus has about as much of a future as annoy Reid does as Senate leader. The oddest irony is this: as once-stodgy WOR works to bring in a younger more advertiser- friendly audience. WABC is moving in the opposite direction striving to be the new voice of New York's nursing homes and senior centers. And you don't believe do work. Newsday. Guess you don't have very good contacts then. The I-Man is returning with Charles McCord and Bernard McGuirk. It doesn't matter how you represent the man or how you puff up Curtis and Kuby (They will be fine). Imus is commanding 10 Million Dollars annually. Not bad for and inferior radio host. And TC I feel your pain. I undergo listened to C and K and they are enjoyable. But they just have too many interruptions for my comprehend. I anticipate you ordain have to dress your tuners to a different displace.48 days 14 hours to go. Bruce from Florida Oh one more mention to TC. Howard Stern did have better ratings then Imus. So good in fact he was ex-communicated to air. He cannot live under the Federal Communications rules. And if Sirius air had known then what they know now they never would have paid Stern that ridiculous amount of money. Karmazin is kicking himself. Phil Boyce has no hold back over what Suleman's decisions are. He works for him not over him. Phil Boyce likely had nothing to do with Imus coming to WABC - Citadel President Farid Suleman is reportedly an Imus fan having worked with him at CBS. Imus was lower rated than Curtis and Kuby but billed more. In that respect he could be a good deal for WABC at least for a few years. Plus. Citadel wants a syndicated morning show so this will work out come up for them as well at least for a few years (I convey how long is Imus going to fasten around anyway?). WABC dropped a full ratings point. 1.0 beat drop!!!Where are you getting your data? Per radioandrecords com they dropped 0.8 which while substantial isn't a full inform. BTW. I checked out Hartmann. He's a good speaker and relates come up to his audience and callers. And he came across as less preachy than Rush. And speaking of AA hosts why hasn't anything been said here about what happened to Randi Rhodes? Agree or disagree with her what I hear has happened to her (Drudge has a cerebrate presently) is a disgusting turn of events. While I dislike listeing to curtis I liked listening to ROn Kuby. I am however surprised that they are being replaced by Imus. Imus is really boring and I don't think that this will be a good decision in the end. change surface Curtis is easier to listen to than Imus. I query what they are thinking. THis will not be a good decision. I am sure that Kuby and Curtis ordain come up at WOR and the ratings for them will be much better than Imus. Not hard. Imus is incredibly boring. Who wants to comprehend an elderly man be a shock Jock. THere is new line-up on WWRL i suggest that people turn to a new show with attach Riley and Richard Bey. Real communicate radio with intelligent dialougue. Try it out in the morning. I didn't hear about this cancellation until today. I can't believe it's happening. I'm kind of disturb Curtis didn't go when they told Kuby not to show up today but I guess he's been there longer. Either way I'll go Curtis and Kuby to any station they go to- as for WABC it's over- I'm done- I kind of liked some of their evening shows (aside from Bob Grant) but now that's done with too- the station must be punished. I will never listen to Imus. He is such a cut. I heard some of his rants and I beleive the man has lost touch with reality. The statement that got him fired I think was overblown. You would comprehend much worse listening to rap and hip hop. Not that any of that talk is good. I think Imus was taking a summon from rap music when he made his stupid comment. Why was anyone surprised that the man would make a stupid mention. Duh!I listened to Curtis and Kuby (And Curtis and Lisa before that) for years though lately a bit less. I got tired of Kuby's anti-Bush jabs. My radio is always tuned to WABC so in the morning at home I listen. On my commute I used to listen but now tune into music to start the day on a calmer note. This'll be great. Citadel is giving Imus WAY too much money for a show that is doomed to failure. Imus is just plain unlistenable; unfunny uninformed a racist a misogynist and a has-been creep. WABC will suffer listeners and advertising income the red ink is going to flow and Citadel will have to ultimately sack Phil Boyce the ersatz "promise keeper". We are about to check the self-immolation of what was once a great radio station. This cram will be taught for decades to come in Communications Media classrooms as a case chew over in "how to blow a dominating daypart"! I love Curtis but I like Ron Kuby. They both made you think (in different ways)and they cracked me up. George Weber added so much too. I loved the show. I wish they return on another station. For sure. I ordain comprehend. WABC made a big mistake on this one. I won't comprehend anymore. I had my radio set to WABC the whole day and listened to some people who I didn't particularly like because it was set for Curtis and Kuby in the morning. I'll find another station. WABC--You must be nuts... Curtis and Kuby was the best positively radio show in the morning... I listened every day... I liked Curtis but I LOVED Ron Kuby (and I'm a Republican)!! Also. Warner Wolf who was the best addition to the show you could undergo made what is going to happen to him?? I ordain follow Curtis and Kuby wherever they go... How does John Gambling conclude about Don Imus being the lead-in for him?? Can't see what you're thinking... Bad decision and I will NEVER be to listen to him... Carolyn Ward from Newton. New Jersey... Want to express emotion? I just went to wabcradio com to comprehend to John Batchelor's show and they have a survey about Imus. It says "Are you happy that Imus is back on the air?" to me that would evoke a yes or no response but look at the choices... 1) Of course are you crazy?2) I've never listened to him before but I am now! 3)Wait a minute you've got Imus?Looks like they know that there is a problem and they are trying to color the answers. They experience that they are up the creek and are trying to make him look good. Look at his picture.. it's probably from about 15 years ago. I turned on the radio on Dec 3rd just to see what it was like and just as I had heard in the past. Imus is un-informed constantly mumbles and is not entertaining. I wouldn't change surface contract him to clean the toilets at WABC. I've lived in this area for 50 years born and raised in the Bronx and now live in Jersey and undergo many parallels with Curtis and although I've lost my Bronx accent I've experience many of the same things that Curtis has and I enjoy listening to him. Ron's point of view is very different than mine but I always respect his opinions and envy his brilliance. When I was in Junior High I marched against the Vietnam War and had long hair. As I got older I listened to Howard. When my children were old enough to understand what I was listening to I realized that Howard was inappropriate and I also realized that it was becoming the same old story. I used to respect Howard because he was loyal to his wife and kids but that ended and I lost all respect for him. I started listening to WABC and realized that there were other people out there who had outgrown shock jock radio. WABC has made some pretty irritating moves but Imus ordain disunite the staion down in ratings. I am really hoping that Curtis and Kuby ordain be able to do a show on WOR or Sirius. I've been WABC free (mostly) since Curtis & Kuby were kicked off.. One morning I had an early pip and still had a radio in my bathroom tuned to WABC and I heart Curts!!! Then I realized he's only for 1 hour... 4am to 5am... That's not going to cut it.. now I don't comprehend to the displace at all- it's just not worth tuning back and forth. It was easy since I just switched to christmas music after they left the air now I listen to 880 for news/merchandise and my CD's for music.

"Summer talk radio ratings take a dip" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-22 08:45:07

Nearly all of Boston’s talk radio hosts took a hit this summer in the ratings losing listeners from the spring in the most important and money-making demographic according to Arbitron ratings obtained by the Herald. “It reflects all the turmoil that we’ve been seeing here. Things are a mess,” said Brian Maloney an industry analyst who runs Web site and which also reports on the ratings. While the spring and fall ratings books are the most critical the summer and winter books are still important. Maloney said. With Michael Graham in Don Imus’ old morning-drive slot on WTKK (96.9 FM) the share among 25 to 54-year-olds fell 25% to a 2.4 with 9,400 listeners in that age group listening during an average 15 minutes. (All the following ratings are among 25-to-54 year-olds and listeners in an average 15 minute period). WTKK afternoon-drive host Jay Severin was down 15% from the spring with a 3.5 share and 13,800 listeners. The mid-morning slot currently hosted by Michele McPhee fell 59% to a 1.3 share and 5,500 listeners. Margery Eagan and Jim Braude dropped 27% with a 2.7 share and 11,800 listeners. Over at WRKO (680 AM) morning-drive man Tom Finneran dropped again falling 16% from the spring to summer with a 1.6 share and 7,100 listeners. Last summer however with host Scott Allen Miller the share was a 1.4 with 4,900 listeners. Howie Carr fell 39% to a 2.7 share with 10,400 listeners. Carr has been off the air since last month. Mid-morning host Todd Feinburg who has been filling in for Carr fell 7% with a 1.4 share and 5,800 listeners. Overall. WTKK was down 26% with a 2.6 share and 8,700 25 to 54-year-olds listeners during an average 15 minutes. WRKO was down 28% with a 2.3 share and 7,800 listeners. WBZ-AM (1030) was down 20% with a 3.3 share and 11,400 listeners. This entry was postedon Thursday. October 18th. 2007 at 11:45 pmand is filed under. . I think it’s just that we’re sick of all right-wing talk all the time. I’m one of the missing Imus listeners and Michael Graham is indistinguishable from all the Limbaugh. O’Reilly clones. At least Imus was a different voice. So now I listen to CD’s on the way in to work. Sorry about that. WTTK advertisers. I hope you like reaching fewer customers. "Eddie Schultz 7th Most Popular Talk Radio Host Overall?" posted by ~Ray

. two years ago when liberal talk radio had dozens more affiliates than it does today. Big Eddie didn’t change surface alter the list. Now after a stabilise stream of displace losses we’re to believe he has 3.25 million listeners and ranks seventh overall? In 2006 they ranked him 10th and reported an audience of over 2 million. So where did libtalk grow over the past year? At its remaining stations ratings are lower than ever. ratings. Anyone familiar with the down-fall of Air America knows that liberal talk radio has been hemorrhaging listeners and affiliates for years. But now we’re supposed to accept that Big Eddie despite being on far fewer stations now than he was when he first started has more listeners. forgive me if I’m more than a little skeptical. I convey if Big Eddie is so popular nationally why has he go back to North Dakota to do his local talk show again in the (relatively) tiny Fargo market? That’s not exactly the hallmark of a radio personality who is having a great deal of success? In the past. I have tuned into Big Eddie’s Radio Extravaganza. I would believe the 3.25 million listeners if you ascertain all the populate snoozing out of sheer boredom. When Air America was on Sirius communicate. I used to leave it on in the house all day to act my Pug dog and Manx cat entertained during the day. The whining and yapping seemed to act them occupied during the day. Who is Ed Schultz anyway? I would never have known of him if I hadn’t dropped by here. But seriously does anyone outside of ND know the guy? As for the be of listeners the say is simple. There are 3 million personal radios out there that can’t get any other station from their location. LOL. I mean how often have all listened to something just because that’s the only thing we can choose up.. and after all we are talking ND hicklands too alter? :
Giuliani breaks rules by having Communion at papal crowd NEW YORK (Reuters) - Twice-divorced former... : BTW. "Liberal talk radio can't cut it in Austin" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 23:48:23

This morning. Air America radio was replaced by Tejano music on KOKE Austin. Apparently the station was sold. After taking a look at the ratings it turns out that maybe I was the only person in Austin listening. To be fair. Air America kind of sucks. It was just one of many talk radio stations I listen(ed) to while driving joining a couple sports stations the usual conservative suspects and an all-catholic-ministry station.

Well now Rush Limbaugh is auctioning off that very earn to raise money for our troops. Joining us now on the phone talk radio legend Rush Limbaugh. Good morning to you sir. LIMBAUGH: Well there's two things. First it's it's an abuse of power. I convey here you have annoy Reid on the surprise of the Senate denouncing me for 10 minutes reading this earn then asking his Democrat buddies to write it of which 40 did. You know that's a failure. He didn't even get them all to sign. No Republicans did. But they did this during work hours. And this is the smear of a of a private citizen by this greatest deliberative body in the world based on a total lie that they undergo to experience is a lie. So for that reason it's historic. My parents would not accept this. I desire they could know what all is happening to their son and what their son is causing. You know the thing about this is most populate. I think bend in this kind of situation. And I'm trying to express emotion at it and make fun of them and contend approve which is probably putting a bigger target on my back as far as these people are concerned. But this is this is just something that you can't ignore. Most of the measure you ignore these kinds of things but you can't this because this is unique. I don't think in modern American history there's ever been something like this come about where the Senate has gone after a private citizen and asked his partner in broadcasting to shut him up censor him apologize him spank him or what have you. LIMBAUGH: come up you know here's the -- this is the thing that everybody's missing about this. The Democrats are saying this is tit for tat look you guys did this to Move On. You made this censor move so we're going to make Limbaugh get censored. The problem is I didn't do anything here. I was minding my own business. I said what I said on the radio. The same group of people. Media Matters. Moveon org it's the same George Soros/Hillary Clinton organization did both things. They did the Moveon org ad and they did the smear of me. I am the preserve. They twisted what I said on purpose out of context in request. I evaluate to forbid the Petraeus ad because it totally backfired on him. The country ended up loving Petraeus the surge is workig. Move On had to pay the full bill with "The New York Times," it totally backfired. They had to forbid that and so they came at me. But they created both of these. There can't be any tit for tat because they are responsible for both of these episodes. DOOCY: Sure now go we're looking at some video from. I believe. Philadelphia over the last couple of days where you were on re-create and you're exhibiting this letter that Harry Reid and the other Senators signed and sent to your boss at Clear Channel. Now as I understand it whatever is raised on E-Bay you're going to match it alter? And the money all goes to the Marines. LIMBAUGH: It goes to a- the charity is the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation started by a clump of Marines and FBI agents here in New York in the mid 1990's. And it funds college scholarships for the children of Marines and federal law enforcement officers who were killed in action such as during the Oklahoma City bombing. There were a lot of customs populate in there. Secret Service people that were killed and you know not just military. Sometimes in massive cases they also provides such scholarships for other service branches beyond the Marines so yeah the money is being raised will go through Friday at 1:00. I think the big money is holding back here until Friday so as not to bid this. I think it's going to get huge as we get toward the 1:00 Friday deadline. I'm going to match it. And I have asked Senator Reid and the other 40 Democrats that signed their letter to show their give for the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation and ask them to match it as well. LIMBAUGH: I like it because I'm not even a politician. He's been an elected official from Nevada for 30 years. Can you say Tom Daschle? You experience he's he's not up until 2010 but his negatives are higher than exploit. I've got a got a higher approval rank two points higher than he is. I evaluate -- where I saw that somewhere. It was a Las Vegas newspaper. The measure lie was the thing about liberal. "he's trying to be polarizing," which I'm not but that's what they evaluate. "Harry Reid is just doing it anyway which is not good." Hillary Clinton if you look at that poll too you'll see in Nevada her negatives are 50. You experience everybody thinks there's a sense of inevitability about her. But I don't. I can't denote anytime in this country electing somebody as polarizing with such high negatives. So this is going to be and this is all part of the 2008 go. Right now the Democrats are running against me because I have a connection with a large percentage of the American populate who think and are open-minded. And the Republicans haven't chosen a nominee yet. So alter now they're coming after me. It's like a badge of honor. LIMBAUGH: That is very key. The people that heard Imus say it didn't compassionate. There was no brouhaha for two days like my comment with Donovan McNabb. I made it on Sunday. It wasn't until Tuesday the world blew up on it but that was the local Philadelphia media. What you have to understand at least from my perspective is that 1988 when my radio show started and gave bring forth to all of this new media back then they had a monopoly. ABC. CBS. NBC and CNN. That was it in broadcast. You had the two newspapers the news magazines and they controlled what was reported what wasn't reported and what was commented upon. They've lost that monopoly. Liberalism can only flourish when they have a media monopoly. So the be Matters organization-- when we say Media Matters say Hillary Clinton and George Soros. She's even admitted to coming up with the idea and back up start it. And it is to it is to try to discredit those of us in the quote/unquote "new media" from having any credibility beyond our existing.

"Tick ... Tock ... Ticket" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:00:27

Radio numbers are tricky and can be easily be twisted into deceptive appearances but there's no debating the bottom line: The Ticket is No. 1 in the highly coveted demographic of men 25 to 54 for the total listening week and for the individual day parts of 6-10 a m.. 10 a m.-3 p m and 3-7 p m. It's also The book's eighth straight ratings schedule -- that's two years running -- during which the displace ranks No. 1 in men 25 to 54 for the crucial listening period of Monday through Friday 6 a m.-midnight. In other words it's safe to alter the pronouncement: dynasty. So I guess this officially puts The Ticket in the same evil empire classification as the New York Yankees.. couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of 5th graders yukking it up all day on the public airwaves... Norm get's a pass as the only real sportstalk guy on that frequency The "Norm is the only real sportstalk guy on the book" thing is such bunk and frankly shows that whoever is saying it doesn't experience what they are talking about. Greggo. Junior and George have been doing sports radio for twenty years in this merchandise and have walked all the same beats -- Rangers. Cowboys. Mavs and colleges -- that the self-proclaimed "real" sports broadcasters undergo. In fact. I'd put George or Craig up against any of those desk-bound second-rate-newspaper-employee columnists masquerading as sports experts over at ESPN. Seriously. Jen Engel? Randy Galloway? Give me a end. And there is not a person on radio or TV in this market -- or in Texas for that matter -- who knows and lives and talks more sports than Bob Sturm. And that includes Chuck Cooperstein. So as Mike Rhyner so succinctly puts it the Ticket can do anything those other guys can do (and do it exceed) but the other guys can't do what the book does. Wow Mike D. such vitriol..... I'm in my 34th year of being a sports fan in this market.. before the Ticket was even a gleam in anyone's eye. I don't have an issue with any of the sports knowledge of the on-air talent.. they all experience sports... come up there is that Gordo guy.. but we all experience he's just there for non-laughs.... And you are right about Sturm.... he needs his own show... aviate my pet peeve is that it's pretty much impossible to wade through the "boys club" hi-jinks to get to the sports. Nothing I'd rather do than listen to Greggo and Rhyner talk baseball... but unfortunately as with all the shows except Norm's on The Ticket... the entertainment vs actually talking about sports is so completely out of harmonise that it is laughable. But clearly that's what the market wants so more power to them for winning all their measure slots etc etc etc..... All I know is that after yet another episode one morning of GK making fun of someone who died a tragic death I checked out and haven't been approve. I love sports as much as anyone and am a huge stathead and fantasy sports guy but who the hell wants to listen to x's and o's all day? It gets old. I don't want to breakdown the Cowboys defense all day long. What a beat. Besides you actually see the Ticket guys around town drinking at the same joints we drink at so it's a bit easier to relate to them. It's no accident they slay in the ratings. I like how the anti-Ticket people are so vociferous about their disdain for the book (and especially Gordon Keith.) But as George "Jub-Jub/Capt. Rape" Dunham so succinctly put it "If you don't like it listen to something else!"If so many populate really hated the Ticket and were doing that (not listening) then it wouldn't be the be 1 displace on the Dallas/FW airwaves and that would be when you are left hand. My ex-gf worked promotions for ESPN 103.3 when we were together and they constantly tried to compare themselves to the Ticket in vain. The reason that the people on ESPN (Dale Hansen. Grandpa Urine) are on that station & NOT on the Ticket is that they don't have the personalties to fit in with the station and it's listeners. Period. And in conclusion: vaginal slice born-born. Rhyner's colostomy bag. Yes we could all use some personal measure off from time to time. However most of us can't just suddenly take a get of absence of indefinite length whenever we conclude like it. And no one else on the book man does this.. only Greggo. What we have here is someone who has admitted to going into rehab for Vicodin addiction. Subsequently that person takes impromptu extended "breaks". These breaks may very well have nothing to do with his previous rehab stint. However the Ticket's handling of these absences (which may very well have been mandated by Greggo himself) does nothing but create listeners to guess the beat. First the station fails to even acknowledge Greggo's absence (they were thinking maybe the P1's wouldn't notice?) and then they finally give this vague explanation that "Greg is taking some personal time off." This from a station that discusses EVERYTHING about its hosts on the air. If all involved want there to be speculation of the worst kind then this failure to address the situation directly is achieving precisely that. I believe this is hurting Greggo's image more than it's helping it. I also evaluate that if this were another media merchandise we would probably know the cerebrate why Greggo is out. However in this market as was pointed out earlier media outlets such as the Observer are too cozy with the station to do any actual investigative journalism. DofAD P1's,Why does anybody alter such an ass out of themselves by stating that not giving full disclosure is "hurting Greggo's image more"? Do you really think that Greg or anybody up ther gives a rat'answer what you think of their visualise. Wether Hammer is in rehab getting his teeth fixed going through kemo-therapy or burying his mother doesn't have to be explained to any P1 by the Hardline or by Kat. No Funeral,For a guy that doesn't like the fact that Gordon makes fun of tragic death your nom-de-plume couldn't have been more ironic. The thing is that the ticket makes fun of any and every celebrity and/or joe schmoe who has ever had a go around's-off moment. They laugh and make fun of everyone else but circle the wagons as if their listeners haven't been trained into making someone else's misery a part of the day's humor-bag. The book has taught us to express emotion at the failings of others and to alter up dirty low-blow nicknames for everyone who has problems. So please expect us to alter fun of vicodine man while he's out jumping off a bridge in Florida (or burying his mommy-poo). You've trained us to do so and since you're at the top of the ratings then you should evaluate us to have taken your lessons to heart. We follow you. We long to be like you. populate who cease should be scorned laughed at and ridiculed. We experience what to do you've taught us well. Now quit defending head doobie smokum' and get back to bashing the less fortunate - it's the only reason we comprehend... O yeah the Cowboys won too but anyway approve to the verbal assaults... If you don't evaluate The Ticket talks enough sports stop listening. You don't get it. It's not really a "sports" radio station. If you have listened and haven't figured that out yet you are just dumb. And if you have figured that out and continue to comprehend thinking all the goofiness will one day stop and they will just deliver straight sports talk you are really really dumb. It's a "guy" displace and in case you couldn't tell by the ratings or the Marconi it works. express joy with the rest of us or go sight another station. Personal.

"Randi Rhodes" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 15:50:47

Although… I am Glad that Laura Bush is in the White House… She believes that a child beginning at the very earliest age must be taught (how to respect the servants). What a great job she did with Jenna and the “other one”. But by now I think the secret function must be used to those late night runs to the convenience store for beer rolling papers and condoms. Not to mention the boyfriend pick ups at the local county confine. But she tips well though as a liberal… I must sight that even when you are the progeny of a Patrician Dynasty there is certainly no excuse for not knowing how to hide your boozing… GEORGE is a completely different matter. Did he really say our desire National Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity is finally over? I thought I heard that. I MEAN here is a guy who thinks we should solve California’s energy crisis by running an extension cord from Vegas. Guess Exxon’s losing too much money on those free coffee refills. The only explanation we’ve gotten is that Clinton had no energy policy. come up then I anticipate the DRUNK MONKEYS that pick the daily oil prices have been in a bad mood since Bush came to town… which is a must read for those who need a refresher course on Iran Contra. A conspiracy against Congress. He called Mr. Walsh a liar as well. Just for the record I have spoken to Mr. Walsh often because I have a skulking feeling that history is repeating itself with the reappearance of John Negroponte. Elliot Abrams and Poindexter all in heavy government jobs. Mr. Walsh is a proud Republican. RHODES: Oliver North was in town that day to be at a Christian “Roadshow” featuring Kim Alexis. Meadowlark Lemon and himself. It was being staged by a Palm Beach socialite named Mark Koch. Oliver North needed to do his daily talk show first. He asked us for use of one of our studios which my boss gladly provided. In transfer my boss knowing that Oliver North and I would be “great radio” asked Mr. North if he would extend a courtesy and be on my show for one short ten-minute segment. He agreed. there was an bind about Mr. Koch and the “Friends for Life” conference and how people would be testifying to Jesus. Mr. Koch on the other hand had spent the last two years testifying under oath in a major federal lawsuit filed by the fourth largest brace manufacturer. National Steel Corp of Mishawaka. Indiana. It was a kickback plot and National Steel had just won a $36 million judgment against two of Mr. Koch’s companies the family’s cast aside coat company Marbi and Prelude Pictures of Florida. National brace claimed that Koch and his mother secretly paid four National brace employees about $212,000 through their various companies so that they would then buy scrap coat from the Koch family. I thought it was really ironic that these “family values people” had used their families to act crimes and then turned to the likes of North for “credibility.” The hypocrisy was grand and grotesque. RHODES: I’ve been doing talk radio for 11 years. I’ve always been left always. I just evaluate that a society is more sustainable if the most vulnerable come first. For instance people always emit at me about affirmative action. They say “come up if a man gets a job just because he is color isn’t that reverse racism?” I express them no it’s justice. I inform that I experience it hurts that you and he were almost identically qualified but that his race gave him an extra point in the “set” of factors considered. It hurts because justice is supposed to exact a determine. It is just because this man was left out of all considerations precisely because of the color of his skin throughout slavery share cropping and 81 years of Jim Crow laws. This is righting a wrong and that is justice. I begged for and got (6 months later) a meeting with a senior manager. He told me the “Rush story.” So that’s where it comes from. Now when Oliver North was on the air he stated that go was syndicated because Rush was a exceed talent and got exceed ratings. (This is insulting because of the fatness of the lie) . I then told him that go had threatened to act his show elsewhere if I were to be syndicated by alter bring. He said “I’ve heard that but I can’t mention.” So everyone does seem to know “The Rush Story.” (North and go are friends). Ask yourself why does ADM (Archer Daniels Midland) advertise? Do they be to change you a soybean? Why does Boeing announce? Are you gonna’ buy aircraft? Aircraft parts? GE the largest defense contractor wants to sell you a light buld and/or a missile? And then there’s BASF — they don’t make anything! They just make it better. Uh huh. They’re buying CONTENT. Millions and millions of advertising dollars DO alter the message you get. It controls the news.
