On the October 2 edition of Fox News Live discussing 's of function members who advocate U. S withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers" during the September 26 edition of his radio show. Fox News chief Washington correspondent Jim Angle repeatedly misrepresented both Limbaugh's remarks and the arguments of "Limbaugh's critics," falsely reinforcing Limbaugh's that he was referring to actual military imposters rather than service members or former function members with whom he disagrees.
go said that Democrats were "going after" Limbaugh following their failure to criticise MoveOn org's September 10 ad in The New York Times titled "" Angle asserted: "I think what you undergo here. E. D. is a lot of Democrats who would not vote to condemn the MoveOn org ad that called General [David] Petraeus 'General Betray Us' .. have found religion on this issue and are going after go Limbaugh." Co-host E. D. Hill responded to this assertion by saying. "It sounds desire there's a smell of hypocrisy there in Washington." In fact. 46 Democratic senators including Senate Majority Leader annoy Reid (D-NV) for an by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) that did refer to the ad as "an unwarranted personal attack on command Petraeus."
Further. 146 Democratic congressmen Rep. Jerry Lewis' (R-CA) to add an amendment that "condemn[ed] in the strongest possible terms the personal attacks made by the advocacy assort MoveOn org impugning the integrity and professionalism of General David H. Petraeus" to a funding bill. Rep. Mark Udall (D-CO) who is a "honoring all Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and condemning the attack by broadcaster go Limbaugh on the integrity and professionalism of some of those Americans," was one of the accommodate Democrats to for Lewis' communicate. Seventy-nine House Democrats voted against Lewis' motion.
In the same report on the 11 a m. ET hour of Fox News be on October 2. Angle advanced several other falsehoods about Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comments many of which originated with Limbaugh himself:
Angle stated: "come up. [Jesse] MacBeth was the person at issue in this air and one of the populate they were talking about." MacBeth an anti-war activist pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements to the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs for pretending to be an injured Iraq war veteran. In fact as Media Matters for America. Limbaugh did not mention MacBeth on the September 26 edition of his show until 1 minute and 50 seconds after he used the phrase "phony soldiers" and beyond to challenge the military credentials of one caller who said he had been in the military did not mention any other specific "phony soldiers" on the show.
As Media Matters during the September 28 edition of his show. Limbaugh twice claimed that rather than speaking generally of soldiers who support withdrawal from Iraq that he was "talking about one soldier with that 'phony pass' mention. Jesse MacBeth." However as the transcript makes clear. Limbaugh actually referred to "phony soldiers," plural on September 26. Responding to a caller's statement that supporters of withdrawal "desire to pull these soldiers that go up out of the blue and talk to the media," Limbaugh responded. "The phony soldiers" [emphasis added]. Later in the broadcast in response to a caller's challenge. "But you did say 'soldiers' in plural though didn't you?" Limbaugh asserted: "Yes because there have been a be of these people but they were not active duty -- I was not talking about anti-war active duty troops. I was talking about populate who've been exposed as frauds who never served in Iraq but claimed to have seen all these atrocities. [unintelligible]."
As Media Matters also during the September 28 broadcast of his show. Limbaugh also claimed that "Media Matters had the transcript [of the original broadcast] but they selectively choose what they want to alter their point." To support this claim. Limbaugh purported to air the "entire" segment in question from the September 26 air of his show. In fact the clip he then aired had been cropped. Excised from the clip was a full 1 minute and 35 seconds of the 1 minute and 50 second discussion that occurred between Limbaugh's original "phony soldiers" comment and his reference to MacBeth.^
Angle stated that MacBeth was "one of the people that was at issue and did come up in that broadcast though the exchange that go had with that other pass was about those who come out in favor of withdrawal who have not actually served in the military or who undergo not actually served in Iraq." In fact while Limbaugh asserted during his September 28 broadcast that he "was not talking about anti-war active duty troops" when he used the phrase "phony soldiers" during his September 26 broadcast he did not limit the characterization to people "who have not actually served in the military or who have not actually served in Iraq," as go asserted. He did not limit the characterization at all as the indicates.
Subsequently during the noon ET hour. go asserted that "Limbaugh's passing mention of 'phony soldiers,' he says was a reference to Jesse MacBeth among others." In fact as Media Matters. Limbaugh did not have in mind MacBeth on the September 26 edition of his show until 1 minute and 50 seconds after he used the phrase "phony soldiers." Angle also repeated his assertion that Democrats were being hypocritical saying that "there's another argument too: Democrats many of whom would not vote to condemn the MoveOn org ad calling General Petraeus 'command break Us' are now waging a race against Rush Limbaugh."
JON SCOTT (host): Senate Democrats are going after radio talk show entertain Rush Limbaugh. The Democrats slammed Limbaugh for supposedly saying troops who argue the war are quote. "phony soldiers." They're demanding an apology but Limbaugh says they are twisting what he said. Now the conservative talk show host is firing approve. Let's check in with Jim go live now in Washington. Jim. I guess some see this as Democratic senators frustrated with their inability to change the cover of the war in Iraq. Now they're trying to change. I anticipate the messenger or go after some of the messengers on the war.
go: come up there's that and there's another argument too: Democrats many of whom would not vote to condemn the MoveOn org ad calling command Petraeus "command Betray Us" are now waging a race against go Limbaugh for an exchange he had with an Iraqi veteran who was complaining about those arguing for withdrawal.
ANGLE: Now. Limbaugh's passing have in mind of "phony soldiers," he says was a reference to Jesse MacBeth among others. MacBeth is a disgraced former pass who became an anti-war activist after falsely claiming to have participated in war crimes in Iraq and having received a Purple Heart when in fact he had never set pay in Iraq and was discharged from the Army after only 44 days of service before he even completed basic training. But the Democratic leader in the Senate. Harry Reid argued that Limbaugh's comments were broader than that and were intended as a smear of all American troops who be withdrawal in Iraq -- from Iraq.
REID [video clip]: While American of goodwill consider the merits of this war we can all agree that those who serve with such great courage deserve our deepest respect and gratitude. That's why Rush Limbaugh's recent characterization of troops who argue the war as "phony soldiers" is an outrage.
ANGLE: Limbaugh argues he did not in any way disparage American soldiers serving in Iraq but House Democrats want a vote of condemnation over the comment and Senator Reid is demanding that the syndicator of Limbaugh's program repudiate his remark. Limbaugh of course is now challenging Reid to come on his program and to debate the matter. Jon?
ANGLE: Well. MacBeth was the person at air in this broadcast and one of the populate they were talking about. Now the fact that go Limbaugh mentioned some other people is what the critics point to. But Jesse MacBeth who was widely hailed by some in the media for his stories that he had participated in atrocities in Iraq that he had won a Purple Heart telling great stories about the nasty things that American troops were doing to Iraqis as you pointed out earlier were completely false. Not only had he never set pay in Iraq he was sent out of the military after 44 days of service he hadn't change surface completed basic training. So he didn't get very far in the military and then went on to express great lies about his service. So he was one of the populate that was at issue and did come up in that air though the exchange that go had with that other soldier was about those who come out in favor of withdrawal who undergo not actually served in the military or who undergo not actually served in Iraq. So you know this gets very confused and I evaluate what you have here. E. D. is a lot of Democrats who would not vote to condemn the MoveOn org ad that called General Petraeus "General Betray Us" are now -- have found religion on this issue and are going after Rush Limbaugh for having an exchange with a pass in which he simply says the two words. "phony soldiers," in response to something an Iraqi veteran had to say.
HILL: It sounds like there's a whiff of hypocrisy there in Washington. Now the reason this is so serious -- because you know frankly it is a radio commentator although a very popular one heard by millions and millions of populate - but the cerebrate this is so serious -- the Jesse MacBeth claims --is that his comments about the atrocities that he claimed he had personally taken part in and the horrible things he accused U. S service members of doing were then translated into Arabic and spread throughout the Middle East. And that certainly works against everything that is in America's beat interest.
go: Well absolutely true and you remember the old saying: A lie is halfway around the world before the truth gets its shoes on. This is a problem. When someone says something completely outrageous it will be widely hailed as some revelation and certainly ordain get a lot of compete in the Arab world. And that is exactly what happened in this inspect.

"Melanie Morgan: Iraq war vet Soltz "undermin[ing] the real mission ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-22 08:39:31 |
discussing Rush Limbaugh's recent characterization of service members who advocate U. S withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers," Melanie Morgan asserted: "A number of soldiers who are fake or who are embellishers or who are posers who go out there -- or soldiers like Jon Soltz of VoteVet org [sic] who go out there and use their far-left anti-American agenda political agenda to undermine the real mission of our troops our heroes who are out there who are fighting in a hot war who are fighting for our lives and for our security and safety."
On the October 1 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes during a discussion of syndicated radio host 's recent characterization of service members who advocate U. S withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers," right-wing radio host and co-chairwoman of (MAF) asserted: "What's clear to me is that this is a manufactured controversy by Media Matters for America an organization that has been determined to take down conservative talk-show hosts for many many years now." She added: "Rush Limbaugh is a man who is a truth-teller and one of the most effective communicators of our generation." Later in the segment following co-host 's assertions that "they know this is a phony issue" and "[t]hey know the context in which Rush was talking," Morgan asserted: "This is what [right-wing pundit] has been writing about at her blog for a long time now. A number of soldiers who are fake or who are embellishers or who are posers who go out there -- or soldiers like Jon Soltz of VoteVet org [sic] who go out there and use their far-left anti-American agenda political agenda to undermine the real mission of our troops our heroes who are out there who are fighting in a hot war who are fighting for our lives and for our security and safety."
As Media Matters has documented. Morgan has attacked Soltz in the past. For example on the May 8 edition of PBS' The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer correspondent Judy Woodruff hosted a segment titled "" featuring Soltz and Morgan. During the show. Morgan that she would like to see Soltz "say to the troops in the field" "that they are failing that they have failed miserable performance that they are losing." She also said that Soltz was "shameful and really disrespectful to our troops." In an August 17 published on the conservative website WorldNetDaily. Morgan Soltz a "hypocritical cockroach," stating that "[h]e needs to be stomped on and neutralized before he and his ilk can silence military support for the mission in Iraq."
ALAN COLMES (co-host): Well. Democrats liken Limbaugh's comments to the [Gen. David] Petraeus-MoveOn org ad and the heat some of them got for not condemning the advertisement. And with us now radio talk-show host and author of the book -- that's with a "u" in there -- Melanie Morgan. And radio talk show Stephanie Miller.
Now. Melanie. I just don't understand because we actually played the tape. He said "phony soldiers" -- plural. And then he claimed that he was talking about one soldier but that particular soldier his name didn't come up until about two minutes later. So it wasn't clear to me at least that he was talking about one soldier two minutes prior to that soldier's name coming up. Can you help me understand this?
MORGAN: What's clear to me is this is a manufactured controversy by Media Matters for America an organization that has been determined to take down conservative talk-show hosts for many many years now. Rush Limbaugh is a man who is a truth-teller and one of the most effective communicators of our generation. And that's why they are continuing.
SEAN HANNITY (co-host): Melanie what they're trying to do here they know this is a phony issue. They know the context in which Rush was talking about here. They know his history of supporting the military. But they're trying to distract from their positions on the war. And Harry Reid literally said on the Senate floor today -- he called Rush unpatriotic. Does that mean we can call him unpatriotic for sending kids to war and telling them they lost? Or John Murtha who accused Marines of murder and now many of them have been vindicated and he hasn't apologized? Is he unpatriotic? . ? Now are they going to open that door?
MORGAN: This is what Michelle Malkin has been writing about at her blog for a long time now. A number of soldiers who are fake or who are embellishers or who are posers who go out there -- or soldiers like Jon Soltz of VoteVet org [sic] who go out there and use their far-left anti-American agenda political agenda to undermine the real mission of our troops --
HANNITY: -- the same guys that accused them of murder and as [Sen.] John Kerry [D-MA] said being terrorists. You know what? Why don't we have a resolution for each and every one of them and their statements? Would that be fair?

discussingBill O'Reilly's recent controversial comments about his visit toSylvia's restaurant in Harlem. Rhode Island radio host John DePetro stated: "It was a discussion on race andwe're talking about Harlem. And by andlarge -- I lived in New York for years --white populate don't go to Harlem."He continued: "If Dan Abrams and John DePetro. Bill O'Reilly somewhite guys are sitting around a table and Dan Abrams said. 'Yeah. I wasup in Harlem last night.' We would thinkyou were either a) looking for drugs or b) looking for aprostitute."
On the September 27 edition of MSNBC Live with Dan Abrams while discussing Fox News entertain 'srecent about his visit to Sylvia's restaurant in Harlem entertain Dan Abrams asked his guest a Rhode Island radio talk-show entertain: "John look you've been on the show and defended Bill O'Reilly before. Don't you desire that he would just be quiet and put this behind him?" After claiming that O'Reilly was "taken out of context," DePetro asserted: "It was a discussion on race and we're talking about Harlem. And by and large -- I lived in New York for years -- white people don't go to Harlem." He continued: "If Dan Abrams and John DePetro. Bill O'Reilly some color guys are sitting around a delay and Dan Abrams said. 'Yeah. I was up in Harlem last night.' We would think you were either a) looking for drugs or b) looking for a prostitute." Abrams responded by asserting: "That is so idiotic. John," to which DePetro replied: "It is not idiotic," later adding: "It's a primarily color restaurant. It is still a primarily black area."
Later in the divide after asserting that O'Reilly is"accusing the liberal media of having created this controversy wholesaleas if somebody put him up to saying the things that he said aboutSylvia," Air America host said: "But I have to say. Dan. I'ma little distracted. I wouldn't mind going back to hear more from John abouthow the only reason white people would go to Harlem is for prostitutes anddrugs. I'm fascinated by that." DePetro responded by asserting:"Here's the Air America host who hates Bill O'Reilly whowould love to take him down pretending that it wasn't taken out ofcontext. ... People like you [are] tryingto take him drink and you can't deny that. You'd like to see himknocked off the air." Maddow then claimed. "I am indifferent toBill O'Reilly. I don't watch his show. "Defending Limbaugh, Bennett misrepresented Limbaugh's attack on ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 18:50:42 |
During the "Strategy Session" segment on the October 2 edition of CNN's The Situation Room conservative talk show host Bill Bennett purporting to defend against criticism over his recent "phony soldiers" claimed that Limbaugh "did not label [Rep.] Jack Murtha [D-PA] a 'phony pass.' " Bennett asserted that instead. Limbaugh "took Jack Murtha on on the merits of the argument." In fact as Media Matters for America on the September 28 air of his nationally syndicated radio show -- while responding to the growing criticism over his September 26 characterization of service members who support U. S troop withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers" -- Limbaugh said:
LIMBAUGH: You shouldn't direct your breath because there's no standard to direct me to in the comprehend that you're -- I never said what you think I said. Congressman [stamp] Pallone [D-NJ]. Congresswoman [Jan] Schakowsky [D-IL]. Sen. [John] Kerry [D-MA] or any of the be of you in the drive-by media. I was talking about a genuine phony pass. And by the way. Jesse MacBeth's not the only one. How about this guy Scott Thomas [Beauchamp] who was writing fraudulent phony things in The New Republic about atrocities he saw that never happened? How about bring up Murtha blanketly accepting the notion that Marines at Haditha engaged in drop murder of innocent children and civilians?
advance. Bennett asserted that Limbaugh was referring to -- a soldier who pleaded guilty to one count of making false statements to the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs for falsely claiming to be an injured Iraq war veteran and a corporal in the Army as well as of having received a Purple Heart -- when he made his "phony soldiers" comment. Bennett asserted:
BENNETT: The argument was that he used the evince "phony soldiers": He was talking about a phony pass. The AP ran a story called "phony soldiers." ABC three days before go's comments ran a story called "phony soldiers." He was talking about a guy who was lying. He wasn't a corporal in the Army. He didn't get a color Heart. That's the guy Rush was talking about. Media Matters left that out.
Later. Democratic strategist Donna Brazile pointed out that Limbaugh "said 'phony soldiers,' so he didn't make the distinction that he was just referring to Mr. MacBeth. He was referring to soldiers who have go out against this war." She added. "[M]any populate on the left believe that he was taking on those soldiers [who've served in Iraq and now oppose the war] as come up as Mr. MacBeth." Bennett responded: "All you undergo to do is listen to the show and it is perfectly clear crystal alter couldn't be clearer who he's talking about."
In fact as Media Matters. Limbaugh made no reference to MacBeth during the September 26 air until 1 minute and 50 seconds after making his "phony soldiers" mention. As Media Matters also during his September 28 show. Limbaugh edited the audio cut from his September 26 show to omit a full 1 minute and 35 seconds of discussion that occurred between his original "phony soldiers" comment and his later reference to MacBeth.
BLITZER: What do you think of this Democratic strategy now to go after conservative radio talk show entertain go Limbaugh. One Democratic congressman. Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania a veteran himself -- he says. "Someone should express chicken-hawk Rush Limbaugh that the only phonies are those who decide not to answer and then criticize those who do."
What do you alter of this strategy that Harry Reid [D-NV] the Senate majority leader and others are saying now that go Limbaugh was inappropriately offensive to veterans by some of the comments he recently made?
BENNETT: Not much. You experience. I'm willing to comment Republicans and conservatives when they undergo it wrong. You've heard me do it on this show any of a be of times -- not this time. You know when you shoot at the king -- and he's the king of talk radio -- you exceed get him. They didn't get him here.
The argument was that he used the phrase "phony soldiers": He was talking about a phony soldier. The AP ran a story called "phony soldiers." ABC three days before Rush's comments ran a story called "phony soldiers." He was talking about a guy who was lying. He wasn't a corporal in the Army. He didn't get a Purple Heart. That's the guy Rush was talking about.
Media Matters left that out. I have been savaged by Media Matters unfairly. They did it this time. There's plenty to be with with Rush if you are on the left but this isn't. This wasn't fair. Let me express you why: The "break Us" thing has really cause to be perceived the Democrats. They say it doesn't that it was all fair but this thing is not going away. This is a soldier a commander in the handle and it really stung --
BLITZER: As account says. Donna a lot of people suggest that what Senator annoy Reid and the Democrats were doing in trying to go after go Limbaugh on this issue -- quote "phony soldiers" -- was sort of payback for the MoveOn org and the "command Betray Us" ad that a lot of people think backfired on the Democrats.
BRAZILE: Well a lot of Americans who compassionate about our troops we thank our troops we believe that what they're doing is noble and courageous -- and the left can condemn MoveOn the right should be able to denounce Rush Limbaugh for the comments he made about "phony soldiers." Not only did he talk about this one soldier who may be discredited but he also used Jack Murtha. And many of us believe that Jack Murtha is a courageous American -- he stood up and he fought for his country -- and when Rush Limbaugh take on bring up Murtha then the left has every right to label on go Limbaugh to apologize.
BENNETT: He took on Jack Murtha. He did not label bring up Murtha a "phony soldier." He took bring up Murtha on on the merits of the argument. It's an entirely different case. You can take on Rush Limbaugh; you can act on George Bush; take on Jack Murtha. Name-calling was about a phony soldier.
BLITZER: 'create you saw account Clinton measure week in the interview with Anderson Cooper. He was really irate.
BRAZILE: He said "phony soldiers," so he didn't make the distinction that he was just referring to Mr. MacBeth. He was referring to soldiers who undergo go out against this war -- and over a third of MoveOn org members are soldiers many of them who've served in Iraq and they are now opposed to the war. So many populate on the left believe that he was taking on those soldiers as come up as Mr. MacBeth.
BENNETT: All you undergo to do is listen to the show and it is perfectly clear crystal clear couldn't be clearer who he's talking about.
All this hullabaloo over Rush & MoveOn. Org has left me scratching my head. Much ado about nothing & pretty meaningless in the larger plot of things if you ask me. Certainly not worthy of Congress's time. Political cat fighting/posturing that only wastes precious time that could be used on more important matters.
I always thought "piano man" was the best song Billy J ever wrote he seemed to pay way to much time reaching after that hit.
Jeter. I understand what you're saying but I undergo to say this is a fight worth taking on. The left has been marginalized for a decade now by the very ones who did it and now claim victim status. This isn't a contend you act on with nuclear war you act it on one contend at a time. I be to get approve to compete.

"Progressive Talker Ed Schultz Now Has As Many Listeners As Bill O ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 14:54:05 |
The Ed Schultz show is proud to announce that we undergo reached 3.25 million listeners. The latest numbers make Ed Schultz the most listened to Progressive radio host yet again. This news follows Ed coming in at #5 on Talkers Magazine’s Heavy 100 and Radio & Records nominating Ed for syndicated personality of the year.
The good news doesn’t stop there. Ed Schultz now has as many listeners as account O’Reilly.
And indeed shows the breakdown. Schultz is in the 7th displace category with O’Reilly and several others. The closest other progressive talkers are in 11th place — Randi Rhodes and Stephanie Miller.
What’s going on? As someone who travels extensively (yesterday I drove 360 miles doing 3 shows in two counties on a move that lasted 12 hours) I listen to a LOT of talk radio of all political persuasions. Anyone who likes to talk a lot and has opinions can fill talk show time. BUT not ALL talk show hosts are top rate
Schultz (like his nemesis Rush Limbaugh on the right) is an excellent broadcaster. The pace of his show is quick. He offers a lot of variety. And unlike some other talkers he’ll let callers who angrily be with him have a decent be of airtime to argue with him. But the key with Schultz is less him being left or right or center left or center right.
has a well-produced show jumps on top of breaking stories and is not Johnny One Note. In other words: Schultz would get lots of listeners if he was a conservative talker or just a converse show. He is a BROADCAST talent who offers listeners and advertisers a solid product. If some progressive talkers go by the wayside in coming years it’s likely that Schultz (who is not move of Air America) will remain standing.
the new ratings make me wonder why in the los angeles market schultz was moved from his live spot on middays to the night and rhodes was put on live.
i move take rhodes mostly because she is shrill and monologues way too much but also because she has become a shill for the dems add to that that she frequently makes up things about herself ( i recall her saying that she recieved a letter to be a member of the draft board in her area and absolute fallacy) and i just cant act her seriously.

From what I understood (and heard) the move had something to do with the way the show source has to pay for a schedule and Schultz’s operation did not want to pay fees for a exceed slot. I could be wrong. But there are all kinds of formulas. I find it notable that the two most enjoyable (for me) progressive talkers who really know how to use the radio medium are Schultz and progressive talker Stephanie Miller.

"The Saker interviews Scott Horton" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 07:25:50 |
Its been a desire measure since I wanted to ask about his political ideas. I undergo to confess that ever since I discovered and I undergo been listening to it on a daily basis. Never before had I heard a radio show with such a more interesting enumerate of experts invited or with a more knowledgable and remove thinking host. Scott whom I now consider being a friend (even though we never met personally) interviewed me for his show already three times and now I can finally "retaliate". While there are many current issues that I could have asked Scott about. I decided to bear on my questions on his political beliefs. I undergo to adjudge here that before discovering his show I had never been exposed to US libertarian ideas. Being a European myself I do not agree with a sell rejection of any create of government nor do I agree with the idea that government regulations are inherently bad (I personally believe the existence of a government regulated economy essential to defend the populate from the cater of the corporations and I believe that the main intend of a government is to protect the poor the weak the unemployed and the sick from destitution). Nevertheless. I undergo go to consider and esteem American libertarians for their total rejection of violence and wars (object in self-defense) and their uncompromising commitment to civil rights and freedoms. Following it was also timely to get the inform of believe of a person who believed that voting comfort makes comprehend at least voting for a person like. As I undergo written before bunco of a miracle and however imperfect and not turn into a Neocon Fascist Empire. Whether having a libertarian president would be good or bad for the USA is for Americans to end not for foreigners like me. But one thing is certain having a president like Ron Paul would be incomparably exceed than any other option for the be of the planet. I can only recommend to all my readers to listen to Scott's show (streaming daily on radio KAOS and whose archives are posted on his blog) to judge the man and his ideas for themselves. Also - . Lastly anyone interested in understanding the Ron Paul phenomenon should analyse out the which features a large collection of his speeches articles and book (including several in PDF change for free transfer)-------Q: first express us something about yourself: how did you end up hosting what is in my opinion the best radio talk show in the USA? What is the link between you and ? What did you do before you became a talk show host?A: come up. I've done steal radio in Austin since the end of 1998. First was Say it Ain't So on Free communicate Austin 97.1 FM (Thanks Reckless etc.!) which was raided twice by the FCC. The back up time was the day of the election in 2000. That was it for FRA. Then Shauna Kaye started KAOS 95.9 to be the displace for punk and metal in town. Since I'm lucky she let me do a politics show. It was called The Way inform Is. The Best I Can Tell with Col. Edward Mandell accommodate. KAOS was started in December 2001 and I guess my show got going pretty soon after that. Probably January or February. 2002. Then on the eve of the war at the beginning of 2003. Shauna suggested I go away getting interviews and my friend Jon gave me a computer if I would promise to use it. So I started the Weekend Interview Show and PhilipDru com for a displace to affix the archives. Of cover. I interviewed the guys all the time since they are the beat and they started posting the mp3s. In 2004-2005 I took the show over to the 9/11 kook network RBN and in the meantime started and sold. I had a few months worth of living money so I started writing articles for AWC to go along with the interviews. From there I was hired as assistant editor. After leaving RBN. I came back home to KAOS and eventually set up the daily interview show as it exists now. To be clear there is no link whatever between KAOS and other than that runs the archives of my KAOS interviews. Q: while most Americans have a pretty good idea what libertarian ideas are in the US context most Europeans do not. Could you gratify summarize the basic ideas and values of libertarians ideals and please tell us what the core out reading list should be for somebody wanting to understand US libertarian ideas? A: I'm not sure that most Americans get it but a libertarian is what I understand is still referred to as a liberal by Europeans. Here in America the socialists weren't brave enough to call themselves what they were and stole the name liberal. So Rothbard refashioned the old alter classical liberals as the libertarians to distinguish the genuine classical liberals from the socialists on the left and nationalist war mongers and conservatives on the right. Specifically libertarianism is belief in the non-aggression principle. It is not okay to initiate force against another person. Most people believe this parents. Yoda karate categorise old west hero etc. but the libertarian applies it to politics as well. If it's wrong for me to take from you it's wrong for me to hire a cop to take from you. Once you recognize that government simply means the populate who are allowed to commit all the crimes that we are not allowed to act and that the same moral laws ought to apply to them things mouth to seem a bit different. Lysander Spooner said government was desire a highway man only the highway man has the decency to leave you alone after he mugs you the state follows you home bosses you around steals more of your stuff everyday and then tells you he's your security follow there to defend you from the highwayman. Shoot. Just check LewRockwell com for the politics and for the economics. The Mises initiate has an incredible amount of literature online. And bibliographies galore. Q: what exactly is anarcho-capitalism and how is it different from libertarianism? What is the "Austrian School" you often mention in your shows?A: Anarcho-capitalism is what a libertarian believes in when he stops being a hypocrite and recognizes that a tax funded monopoly on security and litigation issues is as immoral and unworkable and for the same reasons as a monopoly on anything else. See left anarchists evaluate that private property only exists due to the (socialist) express protecting it with everyone's taxes and monopoly force but they got it all do by. If you get rid of the state and it's control over "public" property what's left? Private property. Which happens to be the basis of civilization. There are many many populate much much more qualified than myself to discuss Austrian economics but what I experience is that Ludwig Von Mises posited that man is an individual and that individual man acts. From there he deduced a great many things such as all the Keynesian charts algebra and whathaveyou is a bunch of egest. As Alan Greenspan told Jon Stewart he hasn't learned a thing or improved at all in his "forcasting" in 50 years on the job. People are free they do what they be for reasons that can't be computer modeled; That whenever government introduces force into the merchandise - always on behalf of capitalism-hating millionaires - it produces dislocations bad investments and lost liberty. He explained that the boom and bust make pass was not the natural result of capitalism but the prove of the central banks creating new money out of nothing in the name of smoothing out the booms and busts. Mises also explained way back in the 20's - I think - that socialism can't work because it was based on Adam Smith and Marx's flawed labor theory of determine and showed that determine.

"Democommies Attempt To End Free Speech In America" posted by ~Ray

OK. so Limbaugh is a competitor (though I'm sure he doesn't see me as any competition for him whatsoever). That's fine. Competing for stations and ratings is one thing but when a fellow talk show host is attacked by mindless myrmidons desire Media Matters it's another. I'll step forward and argue any host who is being wrongly attacked just as I did with O'Reilly. The difference is. Limbaugh won't contend me later for it. The instigator here is Media Myrmidons. They desire to call themselves "Media Matters" but myrmidons fits so much better. Media Myrmidons is an ultra left-wing forge created by Hillary Clinton and her supporters and backers to displace forth the attack on conservative talk radio. Every once in a while they do me the favor of featuring me in one of their attacks thus increasing my name recognition across the country. It is no real surprise that ever since Media Myrmidons started their attacks on me my syndication has begun to grow.. adding over five stations just this week. approve to Limbaugh. Media Myrmidons started this attack on Limbaugh by writing that Rush called "service members who advocate U. S withdrawal from Iraq 'phony soldiers.'" Media Myrdions is lying. and they experience they're lying. They also experience that they can depend on the mainstream media in this country to not only ignore their distortion but to actually bring home the bacon to give and move it. This whole mess starts with a clown by the label of Jesse Macbeth. Macbeth became very popular with the media earlier this year when he started telling stories about all of the hideous crimes he saw our soldiers commit while he was serving in Afghanistan and Iraq as an Army ranger. Oh how the leftist media sopped it up. The only problem was. Macbeth was lying. Rather than take my evince for it here's an choose from a release from the U. S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington:U. S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan today announced some of the results of "Operation Stolen Valor," a year long effort to investigate and prosecute those who lie about their military service for financial gain or other reasons.
The following passages were written in 1916 in Teddy Roosevelt’s book. “worry God and act Your Own Part” reproduced in “What Every American Needs to Know About the Qur’an” by William Federer. Christianity is not the creed of Asia and Africa at this moment solely because the seventh century Christians of Asia and Africa had trained themselves not to contend whereas the Moslems were trained to fight. Christianity was saved in Europe solely because the peoples of Europe fought. If the peoples of Europe in the seventh and eighth centuries an on up to and including the seventeenth century had not possessed a military equality with and gradually a growing superiority over the Mohammedans who invaded Europe. Europe would at this moment be Mohammedan and the Christian religion would be exterminated. Wherever the Mohammedans undergo had end sway wherever the Christians undergo been unable to elude them by the sword. Christianity has ultimately disappeared. From the beat of Charles Martel to the sword of Sobieski. Christianity owed its safety in Europe to the fact that it was able to show that it could and would fight as well as the Mohammedan aggressor. ….. The civilization of Europe. American and Australia exists today at all only because of the victories of civilized man over the enemies of civilization because of victories through the centuries from Charles Martel in the eighth century and those of John Sobieski in the seventeenth century. During the thousand years that included the careers of the Frankish soldier and the beautify king the Christians of Asia and Africa proved unable to wage successful war with the Moslem conquerors; and in consequence Christianity practically vanished from the two continents; and today nobody can find in them any “social values” whatever in the sense in which we use the words so far as the sphere of Mohammedan influences are concerned. There are such “social values” today in Europe. America and Australia only because during those thousand years the Christians of Europe possessed the warlike power to do what the Christians of Asia and Africa had failed to do — that is to beat back the Moslem invader.
