It's the longest running TV show in history.* started there weren't that many TV news shows on the air. Now one could argue that there are too many. isn't really that special anymore. Past hosts have included Lawrence Spivak (who also created and produced the show). Ned Brooks. Bill Monroe. Marvin Kalb. Roger Mudd. Chris Wallace. Garrick Utley and current host Tim Russert. Some people undergo said that the show isn't the same anymore because Russert has on guests like. I think that's ridiculous because they've had comics on before. Though I do think the way that Russert conducted most of the interview faux serious and trying to be jokey too was odd. The converse with Colbert was the least funny thing I'd ever seen and I think Colbert is very talented. Russert should never attempt to do comedy even as a straight man. Overall. I'd agree that the show isn't what it used to be. I started watching 7 years ago. Russert was a much better interviewer then--he actually pressed people on things. Now he's much friendlier with the people he interviews. He's much closer to Larry King now than Mike Wallace. Maybe it's the nature of Sunday morning talk shows these days--everyone's got to be chummy and throw softballs. gratify keep your comments relevant to this blog entry. Last month. I commented that one of the things distracting me from blogging was the Master Class in Video Games I’m teaching at the University of Texas at Austin. It occurs to me I haven’t mentioned that here before and you might not experience what I’m talking about. So let’s talk about that a bit… It’s probably a bit of an overstatement to say I’m “teaching.” Yes there’s a course listed in UT’s Radio-TV-Film department catalogue (RTF 343) cross-listed with the Computer Science department (CS 380 if memory serves). And yes there are 35 students in the class. But most of the “teaching” is being done by a guy named Arie Stavchansky a talented digital artist whose you should analyse out. He’s handling the weekly. 3-hour lab where students draft game concept docs and act paper prototypes and so on. He and I talk about the labs each week before he goes and does his thing but my move of the course happens each Monday evening. That’s when I get to play James Lipton to the video bet business. Each week. I get a gaming luminary to be my guest for a 3-hour. Inside In upcoming weeks. I have Paul Weaver ace Development Director… Richard Garriott ace come up.
