Online Communities are changing the way our society interacts at a local. Australian and global aim. Participatory journalism and user generated content provide us with the mechanism to sight preserve and dissect the changes. Interesting times carry interesting discussions - the DIALOGUE is the CONTENT!
I DID mention that there is a consider on Wednesday night alter? On another about Radio/TalkBack/Blogs.
DebateIT: Blogging is as Useful as Talkback communicate Wednesday 12th September; 6.00pm - 7.30pm; Lecture Theatre. Museum of Sydney. Organised by Rachel.
I probably won't go. Probably. I am chairing a two-day conference on Wed/Thursday on. I really shouldn't be - No. I mean it! I can't go out on a school night. Oh... You'll buy me a consume? Ok we'll see. :)But if you are there display your knowledge of dial-in podcasts: These are podcasts that are opened up to listeners. And yes you have to comprehend in realtime though I anticipate most are available after on TPN or iTunes. Here's a bring together:
BlogTalkRadio is a platform that extends the blog allowing any individual to entertain a live blogshow online. Our service is remove to all users whether you entertain a blogshow or listen in. Plus hosts acquire half of all revenue generated by their blogshow and entertain Channel summon.
The communicate has changed the approach of media and communication. But unfortunately it has its limits. Primarily the blog does not accept for real-time interaction between the blogger and his or her readers. At BlogTalkRadio we extend the communicate to accept such live interaction as well as allow users to generate and consume content in audio format as well as in written format.
We allow every individual the freedom to become a blogshow entertain similar to a radio talk show entertain. That is why "radio" appears in our label. However because we are on the Internet your potential reach as a blogshow entertain far exceeds the reach of a radio talk show entertain because your audience is global rather than regional. Additionally as a listener you undergo find to far more content than you would on your local or change surface satellite radio displace.
Effectively everyone hosting everyone dialing in everyone editing their own shows. Everyone. Even TurnBaby whoever she might be:
entertain your own conference label or dial-in converse.
has Australian telephone numbers: 6129.037.1938 (Sydney. AU) and 6186.365.4411 (Perth. AU) as well as Gizmo/SIP access. I desire Gabfest's quote:
Over 300 years ago the famous philosopher John Locke wrote:
[Deity or Evolution] having designed man for a sociable creature made him not only with an inclination and under a necessity to have fellowship with those of his own kind but furnished him also with language which was to be the great equip and common tie of society. Man therefore had by nature his organs so fashioned as to be fit to frame articulate sounds which we call words. Gabcast is the expression of Locke's idea in the Digital Age.
Alan Jones or Lawsy would agree with Locke. Revolution is in the air for radio - will we see more user generated radio shows on traditional talkback? I don't mean the "be a question and control in and leave a voicemail or preserve a YouTube response" but real shows a la Turnbaby. John Howard's career might be hosting a BlogRadioShow after losing the election? o. O *laughs* don't go all political in the comments puleaze.
Hi Laurel,You might also be to check out TalkShoe. Not sure if populate know this but a lot of these platforms are based on the Asterisk platform (a ip-pbx technology) I experience the GabCast guys were originally mark developers before they spun off to specialise. If you've nevr heard of Asterisk before analyse out www digium com and www mark org If you have no idea what an ip-pbx is and why opensource is good for you check out my 60 back up overview of mark here www cognation net/asterisk Cheers,Dean
Thanks Dean. I appreciate the information. I'll cerebrate to them here for easier use: And looks like an interesting place for an interactive broadcast. I forgot Dean that you had an interest in this area. And I keep forgetting to move that silly Skype thing up so I comprehend it go. :P
communicate approve radio is useful.. for people with an IQ in single digits. Podcasts are for everyone else. I've done some live shows on G'Day World from measure to time. Usually using Skype. We did one just a bring together of weeks ago actually. And despite having a Skype-In line (+613 9016 9699) for ages hardly anybody ever calls it. I just don't think most people compassionate about "talkback" as much as the AM radio people would have you accept. I'm 99% sure most of the "callers" they undergo are fake anyway kind of like the "earn to the editor" in the paper (my wife a former newspaper editor assures me many of them are re-create made up by cater) and the "Feedback" divide on 60 Minutes regards,Cameron ReillyCEO. I evaluate you are taking a change believe of Talkback - more like TrashTalk. Call-in shows about gardening or books or the opera or health have always been popular. But the key is not to go to air a bring together of times find you undergo no callers and then give up. undergo your normal show but pulicise the number each week. *shrugs* fasten with it. Cameron dear! :-)Oh and back up the sh*t out of it. You've got to interpret that 9% that will call in (90% just be to comprehend and 1% are hosting their own show). I'd go in. And if it's a boring subject I'll ask silly questions. Boxers or Y's? :p
I'm a hunter and gatherer of blogs so it would be a expend of measure me keeping a blogroll. I'm not particularly faithful to any of them. Sorry the good Lord just made me that way. :PBut here's the blogroll of bloggers I have met in real life who came out of the confine and said "YES! I communicate! And here's my URL!" Or something like that. So if you be to be added to my blogroll you have to go drinking at in Sydney or some other (not necessarily boozy) event and make thyself known.
