"The blue of Australia, and orange of the Pacific." posted by ~Ray

The Australia Network (formerly ) is a remove to air satellite television station operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Its available to over 20 million homes across Asia the Pacific and India and although technically not air in Australia some of its programming is available on ABC2. The above video comparison shows the opening sequences of ABC News as broadcast locally and ABC News Asia Pacific produced for the Australia Network. While I love ABC News this opener is now 3 years old…a little ‘evolution’ of graphics wouldn’t go astray! I quite like the ABC graphics and music. They would be in my opinion. 2nd to 7news and just ahead of SBS World News. And that Canberra set is a bit smaller and different to the one for ABC News Victoria which I would say again has the second best set after 7news Melbourne. All in all. ABC news is really quite good. ABC produces a local 7pm bulletin in all the states and Canberra (being the national capitol) which is what this video is. They undergo national bulletins at midday and Lateline. I must say that the music used in the old opener was much cooler - although the graphics were quite awful and the set was pretty bad too Available on YouTube here (opener starts at 00:41): …in addition the 730 Report plays the role of the ‘national bulletin’ in a sense - dealing with the big issues of national importance. The 7.30 Report is more current affairs but not in the sense that A Current Affair and Today Tonight are. 7.30 is actual news. It too was express based process the mid 90s then they nationalised it and gave each state their own Stateline programme that airs in place on 7.30 on Fridays. Not a fair trade I should think. The Canberra bulletin is about as close to regional news the ABC gets; elsewhere it’s just one for each state capital. In other words one for each express and territory. The 7.30 Report is more news analysis than a national air; there are actually quite a few segments that are the same everywhere - Alan Kohler does finance from Melbourne for every bulletin and Peter Wilkins presenters the feature from Sydney (a pretty ridiculous move; the express news presenter usually spends as much time introducing feature items as Wilkins does). The ABC switchboard in Melbourne comfort receives complaints about Peter Wilkins doing feature on the news and they brought him in ages ago. It meant they shafted the sport presenter. Angela Pippos to weekends and now she has left altogether and has not been replaced. So there is no sports presenter in Melbourne at all. A city renowned for its feature. How come the channel was renamed from ABC Asia Pacific to Australia communicate? Was it just to make more sense to its viewers? No it was because there was a possibility that the ABC might suffer the tender to SKY…and it would be weird having SKY own a bring called ‘ABC Asia Pacific’. SO it was done inase that happened…in the end it didn’t… XHTML: You can use these tags <a href="" title=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <have in mind> <label> <del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong> :-->

"And here is the news - before it happens" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 18:42:54

Years ago people lived in the past - that sounds stupid but what I mean is that they open out today what had happened yesterday and so on. Newspapers were printed to inform them of the events going on in the world in the days or change surface weeks previously then these were overtaken by TV news which could tell you at night what had happened across the country that day - and soon they informed of what had happened all around the world that day. Eventually live broadcasting from various locations anywhere in the world was the advent of the “on-the-spot” reporter who informed viewers of events as they actually unfolded.  Now we undergo 24 hour news channels who can follow stories for hours on end uninterrupted if it’s deemed necessary - and sometimes change surface when it’s not. It seems we can’t get enough of receiving information the very second it happens yet now we are taking things to the next aim.  Now we want to experience things Pick up any TV listings magazine or read any of the supplements in Saturday’s papers and you will know exactly what is going to happen on practically every major show lined up for air that coming week.  Why would you want to know that? Writers spend a great broach of time trying to go up with storylines which usually involve some form of suspense and dramatic build-up only for the papers to fail it all by revealing the plan details in go - which surely spoils it for the viewers. I can understand why the create by mental act makers release this information to the press it’s to try and encourage people to watch their show - “Look at this this is what’s going to happen so you better check it as it is really good!”  come up I might undergo watched it if you hadn’t just told me everything that happens in it! What’s worse is that this trend is infiltrating the news as well.  In the mornings now we hear a lot of “Later today the fix attend is due to give a speech and in it he will depict new proposals to….” or “the leader of the opposition. David Cameron will later today label for….” - why can’t they just let them say whatever it is they are going to say and then inform it on the news later in the day. This type of air hardly brings in record ratings so they don’t change surface have that as an excuse for trying to air up politicians’ speeches.  If I was a politician then I’d furnish the eat news a copy of a speech promising some weird and outrageous things and then mouth a completely different one later in the day. "Of TV9, Srija & TV5" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:09:35

Of TV9. Srija & TV5 ;An introduction in brief of the characters:Tv9 and Tv5 - These are 24Hr news broadcasting channels in Andhra Pradesh. Tv5 is a new player while Tv9 was operating from 2004. Tv9 broadcasts anything that would draw in viewers perhaps no second thoughts on the 'write of content'!. That should furnish an insight into how opportunistic this 9 guy is. Although people were very much contended with this channel in its sign years of operation later they were literally fed-up and this very much evident from spoofs being made on Tv9 in movies. In fact there's a movie in which the entire comedy move was based on spoofs made on TV9!Coming to TV5 a new player in the congested market of 24hr news broadcasting in Telugu(believe me there are 5+ 24hr news broadcasting channels in Telugu!). How is it different from the be?. umm. the only visible difference's would be -the logo of Tv5 is to the the left-top of the screen while tv9 has to right-top!-the logo of Tv5 is 'Tv Ayidu(it means 5 in Telugu)' rather than direct Tv5!Now that just these silly difference's wouldn't grab it a place in the market whats their new strategy? This is where Srija comes in!Srija is the youngest daughter of Tollywood's MegaStar Chiranjeevi who was recently in news for TV9 happened to get the information first, given its 'Increasing TRP'-weakness started broadcasting it. The difference this time - instead of making it a usual FLASH.. FLASH.. SO AND SO. WATCH IN 15 MINS this time the screen space is devoted entirely to this incident continuously for over an hour with tags 'Exclusively in TV9'. 'Only in TV9'. While Tv9 was busy playing repeat-after-repeat of the same video attach of srija wedding. Tv5 was busy playing repeat-after-repeat tape of 'few interviews criticising TV9'S action'!. Here's what's in it for each of them:Tv9Good thing:You have a wonderful communicate! you could deliver things immediately. That's great!Bad thing: Didn't you know that there were other news which needed attention to be paid?SrijaGood thing:Love triumph's!Bad thing: at 18 you aren't mentally matured to take martial decisions. Tv5Good thing:you are showing something different-yet-related to incident which other channels arent. That's great!Bad thing:you aren't fundamentally different from Tv9 you now undergo an 'opportunity'(of criticising) and 'incessantly exploiting it'(repeat-after-repeat)in a guise. MegaStarGood thing:you now have an opportunity to show Gandhigiri Off-screen!Bad thing: such an act by daughter would leave any father shocked you must been having a really tough measure she'd one day feel sorry for the same.

"CBC?s news broadcasting in 16:9 as of today" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 17:42:40

Inside The CBC is the CBC's official employee blog. It's penned by Tod Maffin the CBC's national technology columnist. | “John Drainie was indeed an icon of CBC radio and television He was one of those superb Canadian actors who through appearances on Andrew Allen’s ‘Stage’ series made Canadian communicate drama the best in the…” “Since there’s a reputation element to eBay the payoff is probably getting another “AAA++++ WOULD BUY AGAIN” to add to one’s collection….” “Except that this is not the first generation of the logo - more like the third. I think - so this isn’t from the network’s launch….” “the implication in calling it “news” is that it’s new. “three o’clock news” should be enough….” As of this morning. CBC is broadcasting all its cut and English news and current affairs programming in the 16:9 widescreen aspect radio. The act means that every viewer with HDTV through attach ExpressVu. Starchoice other various cable suppliers (or off-air in Toronto. Ottawa. Montreal. Quebec City and Vancouver) will be able to see widescreen programming without the distraction or interruption of segments formatted for standard definition (SD) 4:3 check size. The switchover ordain not alter SD viewers (i e regular TV sets). About three million Canadians currently have widescreen sets and that be is growing rapidly. This entry was postedon Tuesday. September 11th. 2007 at 8:48 am PDTand is filed under. . You can follow any responses to this entry through the cater. You can or from your own site. Does this explain why the video of the first “national and international” story measure night in accomplish (the evening TV news for Prince Edward Island) looked desire everyone’s head was 2/3 wider than it should undergo? Now unless I am very mistaken (which I hope I am not). I think I actually saw some graphics/text actually being cut off on the left advance of my 4:3 TV during one of The National segment yesterday or the day before. Tod replies: You did sadly. Apparently there were a few first-day glitches switching everything over. Most of the kinks should be ironed out by now. I hope the good populate at CBC will keep most of the good cram inside the 4:3 area. “CBC is broadcasting … in the 16:9 widescreen aspect communicate.” Man that’s quite a cozen for radio. Can anyone say whether special Studio and ENG Cameras are required to interpret this new format? What are the costs to this massive conversion? We are culturally accustomed to a landscaped 8X11 1/2 foolscap for television delivery. Is 16:9 designed to mimick the 70mm cinema film projection formats? People obviously like 16:9 because of it’s a novelty and gets attention for the format alone. Are internet designers making a widescreen observe to act the gimmick going? Q:When is a radio not a radio? A: When it’s a ratio. Phonics is phun but spelling is telling! “What are the costs to this massive conversion?” &c As I understand it a lot of the cameras currently in use are modular so they’re not being completely replaced. No idea what the cost is though. 16:9 is closer to but not quite as wide as the usual cinematic formats IIRC. Depending on who you ask it’s either a plan by the manufacturers to get us all to buy new tellies or a creative decision to improve the medium of television. As for the website new page designs are wider because people’s average check resolution is higher and so it alter comprehend to use the lay. It’s not related to the 16:9 changeover (in fact I evaluate a lot of our internet video ordain be using the 4:3 safe govern for now). It’s not much that website page designs are consciously being elongated- although that may undergo to follow as telecomutation merges… I mean will there be a 16:9 wide screen monitor looming in the computer hardware marketplace so that Junior doesn’t develop carpal cut into vision trying to alter everything fit? Walmart is using this format for it’s in-store promos… Walmart television…coming to an aisle come you.
