When we were in Taiwan from Sept to Dec 2007 we used this blog to keep in comprehend with friends and family. heat also open it a handy sight to record impressions and fieldwork reflections. Now that we're approve we'll see what happens. Thank you for visiting. To leave a mention move on the color 'comments' link under a blog entry. If you don't have a blogger be simply identify yourself as 'anonymous' and create your comment (you can get your label or initials in the comment if you desire). In the afternoon we went to the. The museum is set in the 228 Memorial Park. The lay was originally designed and built by the Japanese colonial administrators in the first decade of the last century (1906?). Before the park was built there was a Matsu temple there. The museum building was originally a broadcasting station. It was built in the 1930s. The 228 Memorial Museum has been open since 1997 and we have visited several times over the years. The exhibits are unchanged but this time what really struck me was that some of the signage is now multilingual. Only Mandarin. Japanese and English but still for international visitors it's a great improvement. There is also an upgraded audio journey in English (and other languages obviously but I forgot to ask which ones). The audio guide is free but you have to leave photo ID at the information desk to borrow it. It is interactive--to initiate the audio you hold the device against a marked audio tour displace.

"Museum of Television and Radio is changing its name" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-24 08:11:06

First Kentucky Fried Chicken and now you. Museum of Television and Radio? Oh why must things change? Anyway the Museum of Television of Radio is changing its name but not to “MTR.” No it will henceforth be known as “Paley Center for Media,” which TV trivia-heads will recognize as being named after William S. Paley who founded CBS and started the museum in 1975 (back then it was called the “Museum of Broadcasting,” so it’s not like this is the first time the name has changed). So why the change? It’s quite simple: we don’t just get our information through TV and radio anymore. We now have this thing called “the internet,” not to mention video content through mobile devices. The New York City and Beverly Hills locations of the museum will also become a place where people in the media can hold seminars and discussions. These public events will also be made available through the museum’s site not to mention portals such as Yahoo and Comcast. In the meantime. I recommend searching Google Video for ” Museum of Television and Radio.” There are a ton of great (and lengthy) interviews to be found there.
