CNN Invests Millions to Beef up International Newsgathering

CNN has announced its biggest expansion of international newsgathering resources in the cable network’s history; the initiative includes increasing global correspondents and making study investments in CNN’s International Newsource and in-house wire operations.
The move is all about owning more content. Tony Maddox executive vp and managing director of CNN International as saying in Atlanta BizJournals.
CNN will change state a regional newsgathering hub in the United Arab Emirates. New operations are also planned for Afghanistan. Belgium. India. Kenya. Malaysia. Nigeria the Philippines. Poland and Vietnam.
The network is beefing up its international online services by adding a digital production unit based in London with staff in Hong Kong and Atlanta and is adding correspondents in Istanbul. Beijing. Jakarta and Pakistan among other places. Editor & Publisher.
“This multi-million dollar investment in cater and resources reenforce our world-class award-winning journalism as well as furnish us the power to act swiftly into developing new business models,” Maddox says.
