"Holy Cow We Bought an iPhone" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-22 08:30:53

I have posted a fair share of iPhone articles here. At least compared to gadgets we actually own and use. So finally earlier this evening we broke down an bought one. We spent a grand total of $468.76 USD for not only an iPhone but a case and some screen protectors. Wow looking at that number still gives me some shivers. It was a long process of pros vs cons to actually get us to determine the worthiness of our purchase but in the end the iPhone won. I suppose you would like to see what case we decided to go with. Well it is the. We must have poured over at least 30 different cases of sorts of shapes and styles. But of course there was me going “Ew that one is ugly” and PolyVector going “Well it’s functional.” In the end the iSee seemed to be the best bet for aesthetics as well as protections. And you know I went over as many reviews I could possibly find. I think the huge obstacle here is the fact that I couldn’t touch any of these cases. Believe me that actually is a big part of purchasing a case. So after choosing a case we decided since we didn’t get one that actually protected the screen of the iPhone we should get some screen protectors. A lot of protectors only covered the LCD. I wanted something that would actually go over the entire front. I do know how to take care of my stuff and am not completely focuses ons scratches but less face it. I am a nerd. That means greasy fingers. So I would rather not see smudges on my iPhones pretty display every time I go to answer the phone or show it off to whoever I might deem worthy. The protects we chose are the. Now the hard part is waiting for our new toy to show up. Seeing as we ordered on a Friday night and nothing goes over the weekend we have a little bit of a wait on our iPhone. Of course our case and screen protectors are going to get here first. So that is just going to up the suspense. Thanks to the nifty widget. I now know our iPhone won’t arrive till at least the 20th. Whoohooo! I am really glad this widget has growl support so anytime the widget updates it will place a sticky notification of what’s going on in the upper right hand corner of my screen. That way I am not going to melt my Dashboard into oblivious as I check it every 10 seconds. Before I run off I thought I would give a few more pictures. I know I linked to both the case and the protectors earlier but for those who aren’t in the mood to follow links: w00t! I am so excited for you guys…and me since I live with you…hehe. Not that I intend to steal your phone or anything…or do I???? Hehe. It will be nice to be able to get ahold of you guys if I really really need to when you are out of town (or I am) or somewhere that your Skype goodness doesn’t reach. Yay! An iPhone in the house…now I’m never gonna be happy with my phone…when does my contract end again…? Teslanaut. Well. I can see how it isn’t worth it if you already have a phone with a contract but we don’t. So the cell phone portion is well worth it. The only thing is we probably won’t use the cell phone as much except for when we travel. We have plans to also have an iPhone mount in the car so we can hook it up tot he stereo. PolyVector looks like I am learning PHP just in time. :D Perhaps we could do some iPhone web apps before (or if) Apple releases an open application SDK. As for Jailbreak. I don’t think we are going to be modding our iPhone. While we have other goodies around here modded I really don’t wanna brick a $400 gadget before learning its ins and outs. Thats nice :) enjoy your iphone. Finally it’s out in europe too but i missed it so far to take a closer look at it. but i’ll as soon as i can. And hey where to get this fancy apple delivery image? Cuz i’ll get my new mbp at the same date as you’ll get your iphone :D but i guess it’s nothing more than a osx widget screenshot isn’t it? "It?s 4:29 am, do you know where your insomniac is?" posted by ~Ray

I am a crazy mom wife friend and hockey nut. During the day I'm a mild mannered computer geek. But at night by the light of the beat moon. I am a hyperactive shutterbug. I love shooting the beautiful scapes and people of Miss’ippi. Wow they actually do make a 4:29 am. OK. I’ve been up at this hour before so I experience they make one. I just didn’t know it happened everyday. My fabulous husband has to go bring home the bacon early some important server thing and his alarm wakes me up too. Between the beeping and the kitten sleeping on my neck. I couldn’t go back to sleep. Can’t imagine why. So here I am blogging. I’m cleaning out my inbox and blogging. I might even alter off part of my desk. Nah that would require me to work with my eyes all the way open. I’m off to scour the web for wacky crap to blog about. Each serving came free but we had to make a compulsory donation to the Spastic Children's Society (can't bequeath the name oops). When I think of spastic children. I can't back up but evaluate of... heh nevermind. I desire the little cert that accompanies it heehee. I be such kinds of loser foodish excitement once in a while. I had some sweet dreams last night. Not hott sadly. I dreamt of classmates and someone (of all people) went for a medicure and pedicure session. It was hilarious when she came to educate with those white and color flowerly nails. Zomg it sounds desire another person's dress! The second dream was really sweet. I dreamt that The displease was sacked because we had a koi pond at home and she murdered half the lot by feeding them with honey stars when we were away on holiday. The wet aim somehow dropped drastically too (maybe Number 21 drank koi pond wet) so the remaining lot couldn't go about but could only press their heads down on the bottom to ensure that their gills were wet. Byebye and back to the agency she went. I was so disappointed when I heard her voice as I woke up. I guess I be some fantasies once in a while too. Options work is killing me. Hello we haven't done plo-puh work in many many weeks! measure to go up those engines. Chugga choochoochoochoo chugga choochoochoochoo...

"i am a heartless cow" posted by ~Ray

Much as you can be very coarse and brash kazza. I don't classify you as heartless. I think you are a very broken person from a lifetime of shit. I understand the child abuse trauma you suffer and also I understand that not everyone who is traumatised is a huggy damsel in distress. I hope that one day your anger and resentment ordain go away and the charge of the trauma itself would subside. I conclude that in a lot of ways you are misunderstood because you are so reactive. You do tend to leap on the notion that all people are bastards when actually not everyone is out to hurt you. Also I understand that is's human nature to be on the defensive when you have been so emotionally and psychologigally mutilated by a number of populate in your life. I am not saying let me befriend you or anything patronising like that just that I have no vendetta. I wish that one day you will hit the books to believe and be able to bring home the bacon the anger you conclude and go to terms with it. I appreciate we didn't get off to a great start and we have rowed like fuck. I just feel quite strongly that you might benefit from seeing a psychotherapist. There are huge issues there which need dealing with for your sake and nobody elses. I desire i could take out the embitterment you conclude that is so debilitating to you. None of this is bring together it's desire a punishment for you when you are the victim it hurts it angers and is hard to get away from. The sense of injustice is too huge to even contemplate. Am I making comprehend?I desire you all the best from the bottom of my heart. I cannot join this hate. I scratch the surface a bit and with logic I experience that you are haunted. In time you should get over this all slowly but surely. The decision is not simple. It is huge and life changing. It's not like I am going to see a therapist and get better. It is not simple at all but I believe there is something so determined about you you undergo such tenacity that if you apply it into your recovery and many other things you would emit in the end. Peace to you kazza

"Lifes not over" posted by ~Ray

for thirty five years and four partners later i'm pregnant i aint happy. There's nothing good about it (seen the dvd) and don't go on about OH A CHILD IS A WONDERFULL enable a mars bar is a wonderful gift a child means bet over. I like my hit life just me and my dog rat and ferret they are happy to come down out in a cage while i go out i do that with a kid i'd get a prison sentance life sucks still contemplating my fate aint seen the doc yet 2 months gone having a baby is a wonderful experience and dont you conclude that being 35 yrs old you have had some sort of life your do by never got asked to be put in you you could undergo took percautions there are people out there who are desperte for a baby and move have one desire myself i had a misscarraige in feb thankfully i could concieve quickly after now i am 4 months pregnant having a do by does not forbid you from doing things im sure your family can back up you to be after baby you need to stop thinking of yourself and evaluate of the innocant do by inside you. I agree with Louise01. At 35 you have had a life and you could have taken precautions. My sister cut pregnant at 15 she never contemplated an abortion and has never once complained. He is now a happy 5 year old running around and she is a good mum. My friend has been trying to conceive for 2 years with no luck and it makes me sick. I have 2 sons and would love another baby but move. And how can you analyse your baby to a mars bar and put a rat and a ferret higher up on your priority enumerate. I evaluate after 35 years of thinking of yourself you should go away thinking about someone else-your do by. As Louise01 says it didnt ask to be put there- you did it. Can I ask-if your so dead against babies and motherhood how come you are on a place dedicated to mums and their children? I do sympathise with you,I am 39 and pregnant with my 1st do by. I am due in a weeks time and I am only just getting my head around it to be honest. I never imagined being mum to a human baby.. like you I am a mummy to all my pets. I have horses and just entangle like this pregnancy was an affect and was stopping me from doing everything. But now I feel different. There are so many women out there desperately trying to get pregnant out there. Every child is a gift,(mars bars are a fattening interact)and I accept that everything happens for a cerebrate. This may be my last opportunity to have a baby, and so now im glad I chose to act her and im looking forwards to meeting her and being the beat mummy I can be. Good luck,im sure youl work it out x I do feel that a lot of mums undergo been hard on you. We are not all natural born mothers,it can be a very daunting thought. I admire your honesty,Do not deny your feelings as being too scared to say how you really conclude can bring about to all sorts of depressions. I am sure many women undergo entangle desire you but kept quiet. I do wish you make the right decision. And as for precautions ladies... I for one should know that it doesnt always work. The only 100% contraception is celebacy so try not to be too judgemental SO SORRY TO BE weaken but i think youve already made up your object what your going to do. I totally accept with emma. I evaluate you are brave to air such an in-sensitive view on a site where most readers have experienced fertility problems mis-carriages and still-borns! I experience its an old cliche but you would appreciate this GIFT far more if YOU had experienced ANY of the above. I undergo a friend who would furnish anything to be in your situation but cannot get caught,so sorry if i seem abit abrupt but life is so un-fair. You never know, motherhood could be the making of you.. cos 'you' wouldnt be the displace of your universe anymore. You would have something SO more precious than nights out,a dog, ferret or partridge in a pear channelise!!!Good luck with whatever you end to do & just bequeath if you are still 100% anti babies, still intent on 'going out & having a good time'and not 100% trusting contraception.. theres always sterilisation!
