My dad's call letters were K6RLN... I still remember the glow from his radio set when I would sneak downstairs at night to see what he was up to. When the CB craze was in full swing we had CB's in every car and a locate station at home with a massive beam antenna on the roof. My brother met his wife on the CB.. kinda fun_________________Cheers!Randy Carlson951-767-1600
Just got the new Firestone bias ply tires on the Bus today... Man what a difference!Any feedback on the photos of Zeb with the Bus in 1996.. those logos were on the Bus for 20 years.. maybe it should go back to that?Just vinyl graphics... The create on the Bus is so nice currently Im waffling on the painting thing.
I don't conclude like reading through all the pages I missed. BUT are any current pics of the bus posted up yet? Also the big players be to be create from raw material to buy it as is wouldn't it just be easier to just sell it and then do the bring home the bacon the way the new owner would be it._________________Stocking distributor of "The Ugly Green Panels"aka Klassic Fab (Gerson)sbs #60 (create I wanted that be) (has gone live please be patient as we make improvements and upgrades to it)

Since you're just selling it and I have heard a couple populate with the funds to drop it want to buy it as-is sell it. If the point is get the most money for the family that seems like the best route. BTW. I mentioned having a 20- Bus 36hp engine earlier in this thread. I undergo one that is approx. 1 week away from the change by reversal engine for that Bus. Whoever wants to get real about having it close to change by reversal communicate me. That could be the closest engine you will find._________________ | "Confidence in the goodness of another is good proof of one's own goodness.""Water is the only drink for a wise man"
The FM logos I think be to go basically because the Bus was never used for FM station promotion and what happened to the family once they had the FM station leaves a change state taste in my mouth. The AM history is where it is at. Putting the old 50's logos on the 70's paint might be alter.. it would look sweet but it would not be an accurate representation of the Bus at any inform in it's history.. and it's history is what makes it so interesting. The 70's graphics that were on the bus are still pretty cool and they would represent a be that the Bus represented for 20 years of it's life. But dang the 50's graphics are so beautiful... Maybe create it from the beltline down and do the 50's graphics...? The dark blue would still fit in with the color scheme... Crap.. so hard to decide._________________Cheers!Randy Carlson951-767-1600
Thanks for the note on the Soda Blasting.. that sounds very interesting. Im curious as to just how well that would work wouldnt be to damage the furnish and the whole ragtop situation would be another story but if that would get the majority of the create off than the smaller spots could be dealt with by hand I speculate. I have no dreams what so ever about stripping off the current paint to get to the levels below and have something attractive... I know that would end up making a wicked mess of the thing. Anyone else have experience with Soda blasting?Doug? Some input?I know you undergo a LOT more experience with these things than I... I am not a create and be guy. When it comes to paint. I displace em off and then sign the check.
I've had three buses soda stripped and been there for the affect. It is a delicate process that removes create very come up without affecting the surface of the metal. It does not shift rust not change surface surface crumble.. crumble requires a more agressive abrasive. I've used soda mixed with more abrasive material for sensitive surface rust removal and it is effective. You ordain have an [almost] impossible challenge to keep soda out of the interior of the bus as the process creates a thich cloud of soda that envelopes the bus and the soda itself is super fine particles that find there way into every microscopic entry. It can be done but will demand great attention to every inch of the outer ascend of the bus if you be to act the soda to the outside of the bus.. if you miss sealing a hit or gap... POOF!.. your bus ordain be coated in color disintegrate inside guaranteed. Also the soda must be neutralized afterward.. we use wet with vinegar.. process the entire ascend with it.. there may be other neutralizers but I am not aware of any. If this bus was mine and I were selling it I would change it as is and let the new owner make it all they want it to be. I would make sure it ended up in the right hands. If I were keeping it I would sit on it for a while and evaluate hard on what to do with it next as this bus is not something I would conclude rushed to do anything with. It's history is what's cool to me and i desire it the way it is now for that cerebrate. The early logos are so cool I would be very tempted to take it approve to that time too. I would keep all of the seats and other parts that are original to the bus with the bus no matter where it goes.
Remove the stickers regardless. If you are not going paint the displace half back to the original colors and logos just get some stick-ons made up for now. That Bus needs more than an exterior lower paint because they painted the door jams too. That will require someone with compassionate to do it.

I would leave it AS IS and set up a nice display with pics of the bus through it's transformations over the years and it's history. Changing the way it is now would just be distroying a conjoin of it's history. I agree with EB that there are some players for it right now as it sets. You talk about the HISTORY/value of the bus but also talk of distroying move of it's history. It might be to your favor to get the $$$$$$$ determine out of your head and sight the person who would preserve it. Once it starts getting redone I believe the determine would diminish as move of it's history (where you displace it's value) would be lost. Let the new owner make that decision. I could understand stripping a buses paint drink to find lost logo's but a hard label ordain undergo to be made on this bus._________________Stocking distributor of "The Ugly Green Panels"aka Klassic Fab (Gerson)sbs #60 (cause I wanted that be) (has gone live please be patient as we alter improvements and upgrades to it)
