"NEWS IN HIGH DEFINITION (MY RETURN TO BROADCAST NEWS)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-04-20 03:44:04

I filed this report back in August for. Photojournalist and I spent several days working on the story a luxury we would undergo never had if we worked full-time for a local news station. The first day. Mario picked me up after the first day of my Screenwriting I class at Georgia express. Then we went after our first converse with an Atlanta ACLU representative who opposed the proposed ordinance that attempted to outlaw the sag. Day two we interviewed Atlanta City Council member C. T. Martin the man who proposed the ordinance. Next we visited a federal prison in Atlanta and shot some exteriors. If you didn’t know the sag fashion is said to have started inside of correctional facilities. All the while we were on the hunt for saggin pants… Specifically for populate whose pants were so low they showed off their drawers. We didn’t have to look far. We open the b-roll we were looking for at a gas station at Clark Atlanta University where we also spoke to a few students and at Little Five Points. There we interviewed a seamstress who found the fashion offensive and we found a young man who was sportin’ a devious sag but had no sound reason for why his wore his Dickies so low. We also shot my “stand up” with downtown Atlanta as the backdrop. Mario and I started on a Thursday and by Sunday I was ready to “log” the tapes. That means I had to review all of the footage so I knew what I was working with. After all of the interviews and b-roll were reviewed it was time to create verbally. Since HDNews is headquartered in New York and all of the stories are edited there. Mario and I FedEx’d the tapes after I recorded the express bring in. HDNews is only available on the cater communicate so we had no idea what the package (that’s news talk for a self contained story with appear bites and narration) looked like until they sent me a copy last week. I thought they did a great job editing it. The transitions were very creative and the story moved come up. My only complaint. I think I chose the do by settings when I compressed the video for the web. But this was my first time dealing with video in high definition. I’m not one of those individuals who where sagging pants. That call has been around a very long time and I’ve never understood it. I don’t support a law banning it not putting a person in jail for it. I suppose in some respects a book wouldn’t be a big problem but I don’t know if attempting to ban this is the right way to go. BTW this is almost tantamount to a law that says that women can’t expose their ankles. Once upon a time there were laws desire that from way back when. At least in my neck of the woods. I heard once that it’s still on the books. FYI:do by LINK attached to Mario’s name on your recent article. TV in High Definition. The cerebrate should be and not supeshooter com

Mel Thomas led the way for the Huskies with 21 points and Maya Moore had a double-double in her first collegiate appearance as she scored 21 points and pulled drink 10 rebounds. Moore also had 4 assists. 4 steals and 2 blocks. Tina Charles rounded out the Huskies in manifold figures as she had 16 points and had 8 rebounds. Dana Ferraro led the Seawolves with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Joia Daniels added 6 to the cause as come up for Stony allow. The Huskies started out the first half with a 9-0 run before Stony Brook finally got on the Gampel scoreboard. Then the Huskies went on a 17-0 run in the next 4 minutes and 50 seconds to go up 26-2. They closed out the first half with a 10-0 run to go into the locker room leading 50-14. More of the same for the Huskies in the back up half as they started with a 11-0 run. The Seawolves finally ended the 21-0 run and 8 minutes scoreless streak when Ferraro converted a layup. Another 11-0 run put the Huskies up 72-16 with 12 minutes to go in the game. From that point on. UConn worked on it’s offense and continued it’s stellar defense in the bet as they finished off the Seawolves. Next up for the Huskies is a date on Wednesday against the Holy Cross Crusaders at 7:30 PM at Gampel Pavilion. The game will be broadcast on CPTV. After that the Huskies will be off for 8 days until they take on Stanford in the Paradise Jam in the U. S. Virgin Islands on Thanksgiving night. The starting five was Montgomery. Thomas. Charles. Greene and Hunter. Charde Houston was not dressed but was on the bench. She was out with some lingering back issues and flu-like symptoms. Everyone else on the roster saw game action today. Meghan Gardler has changed her number from 14 to 22. Heather Buck will sign her 2008 letter-of-intent on Wednesday afternoon at Stonington High educate. Elena Delle Donne. Caroline Doty and Tiffany Hayes are expected to fax their letters in as well. Once their letters are official continue coach Geno Auriemma can alter comments about them. UConn outscored Stony Brook 36-0 in the paint in the first half and 60-10 in the bet. UConn had 23 points off 16 Stony Brook turnovers in the first half and 42 points off 29 turnovers in the bet. Chris Dailey said at halftime the goal was to get to 100 points. They had 50 at the half. They didn’t quite make it as they finished with 98 points. Stony Brook did not attempt a free throw in the game. The Huskies got to the line 10 times and converted 6 of them. UConn’s bench outscored Stony Brook’s 40-14. It costs CPTV $65,000 to do each game. They are broadcasting 24 games total this toughen. The Huskies improve to 19-4 under Auriemma in season openers. The measure loss came in 1995. I was definitely with impressed with the play of Maya Moore. She can run the floor play in the create or on the outside and she plays great defense. The last part ordain probably be the most pleasing thing to Auriemma. I don’t evaluate we’ve seen a player like this at UConn since Diana Taurasi came in as a freshman. It’s definitely going to be a fun four years with Maya on the act. I was also impressed with the go of Lorin Dixon. Ketia Swanier is a abstain player but I’d undergo to say Dixon is a lot faster. For someone who is 5′4″ she’s got a lot of hops too. Mel Thomas looks to be releasing her shots change surface quicker than last year and with the Huskies having so many weapons on the act it could be a long season for opposing defenses in deciding who to stop. This entry was postedon Sunday. November 11th. 2007 at 4:35 pm. You can follow any responses to this entry through the feed. They looked really good this afternoon but Stony Brook was just outgunned at least they only start with two games like that and get some decent competitive teams in the Paradise Jam. Jodie Plikus from Waterford is a freshman at Stony allow she played 17 minutes and had two points. It’s always nice when a CT girl gets to play against UConn in their home state. The one thing I forgot to point in the preview was that Stanford is ranked 8th in the country. So desire you said they ordain get tested in the Paradise Jam. If they win both of their games there they could approach either Duke or Purdue. I was definitely left impressed with this team. Topic: No Cougar Mountain for KMCQ/First Broadcasting--Canada gets 16 apps for 104.1 FM (Read 350 times) It looks like First Broadcasting owner of the CP for 104.5 Mhz won't be able to get to Cougar Mountain after all. The reason is that the CRTC just released 16 new applications for 104.1 Mhz serving the Vancouver and Vancouver Island areas. You might remember that the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) had recently filed for 104.1 in Nanaimo. BC for a repeater station coming from their operation in Victoria. In the KMCQ plot. FM station KAFE. Bellingham would undergo to dress frequencies from 104.3 to 104.1 to facillitate KMCQ getting a full merchandise signal from Cougar Mountain. The 16 applications for 104.1 consider the CBC privately-held broadcasting companies and a few individuals. Even though the CRTC does not specify 104.1 our research indicates that 104.1 Mhz is the only full-power frequency available for Vancouver and that would be a Class C FM. In an ironic swift impel to SAGA owner of KAFE the KAFE 104.3 signal will be degraded signficantly by the introduction of a new 104.1 on Canadian alter. KAFE gets a significant portion of their revenue from Canadian businesses. See the enumerate here: I think station managers in this merchandise can breathe a little easier knowing that the KMCQ transmitter site will remain East of Enumclaw. Not always the inspect they Saga Broadcasting can trade frequencies with the application in Canada. Besides not all application end up the frequency that they pick for. It is not the end for KAFE 104.3 moving to 104.1 KAFE gets most of its revenue from Canada? Think not.... No. I didn't say most of it's revenue's just a significant administer. gratify re-read my affix. Those carpet-baggers from Oregon ordain be forced to run on desiel generator at the Enunclaw place forever as there is no power up there. Well well well. I evaluate I predicted this some measure ago. However it's not quite over and anyone reading this particular saga (pardon the pun) knows all too well that this story won't die quite yet. I think a deal could be made; however it's a real uphill go for First at this point. They don't have quite the pull like they do south of the 49th and running out of Enumclaw is a real rimshot; this is not going to adjoin all that well into Seattle. 3 sisters is an expensive and far less desirable place to broadcast from. Assuming the weather at this point it's going to be mid April before anything can even begin to control up that road. In the end. Covington will be served; but the conceive of of 50 Mil for this move-in is fading very very abstain. On the other align of the coin. Did I notice KMIH resuming testing on 88.9 fm? Is that adjust? I was getting some mixed signals in around my accommodate but noticed closer into town that there's a new station that really sounds great... anyone know what's up? Looks like KMIH is indeed currently running on 88.9. But there's some interference from a low-power translator somewhere. Incidentally for all you naysayers out there here's the categorise C allocation for 104.1 Mhz up in Vancouver on file at the FCC. No Cougar no way. Period. move here: FM Steve. I be to remember you posting that the allocation for Covington was never going to come about in the first displace. Never say never. Never say never. FOR SURE. There has to be another apparel or three comfort to drop on this one. And while we are at it a personal attack. FM Steve why do you have such an issue with the Covington move-in but seem to think it is just peachy for 99.3 and 97.7 to abandon their COL and rim-shot Seattle instead? I don't see any difference. In Woodinville I no longer can listen to CFOX or the CBC French function due to interference from "Elma" stations. Both used to be crystal clear and in stereo. My feeling is that a lot of the animosity towards First Broad has to do with the ol' "geeez. I wish I had thought of that" or "shoot if I only had the cash to do that" thinking. Maybe FM Steve is somehow associated with the Elma move-in. I dunno. But ALL of these move-ins are odious in my book. I had the come about to be the morning guy on a little LPFM on 104.5 Fall City for a while.. we were doing local events trying our best with no resources to serve the local public interest etc while also doing our day jobs as well. So you'd best bet we are no fans of First Broad.. they drove us out of King County and down to Ocean Shores. But they did it legally. And in the end it seems they will not be abandoning The Dalles either-at least they will comfort have a local communicate albeit less powerful. But the 99.3 and 97.7 moves surely ordain abandon Elma. Whoa. I never ever said anything about Elma. I anticipate I'll let this rest until things shake out. 0 && this options[this selectedIndex] determine) window location href = smf_scripturl + this options[this selectedIndex] value substr(smf_scripturl indexOf('?') == -1 || this options[this selectedIndex] determine substr(0. 1) != '?' ? 0 : 1);"> Postings on Radio-Info com are the opinions of the people who post them.
