""My Boyfriend. My Boyfriend Wentworth. Who Is Also Pretty Freed Up ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-04-20 03:37:26

This is a column by one of the authors of. Today: isn't the WGA touch a good opportunity to deepen your yoga practice? Hi you! How are you? Yes! I am back in New York! Ha ha! It's so weird to be back! Because when you aren't here for a while you really do see how tired and color everyone looks. No you look great! desire Helena Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd! I was just at Florent with Julianne catching up on old times. About all the crazy drug addicts and failed artists we used to experience. And you walk up! What a blast from the past! Sigh. Remember coming here to Florent after clubbing? Are you comfort doing that? How fun for you! How fun! You must be having fun! No I really be to know! As you experience. I undergo been so work for the past few years as a showrunner for Deadwood and the Sopranos and some top secret upcoming cultural milestones. But with the touch going on I am finally free and can really re-attune myself.. so I undergo been working on my villa in Hana deepening my yoga learn spending quality measure with Wentworth. My boyfriend. My boyfriend Wentworth. Who is also pretty freed up right now because of the touch. I gotta say. I got pretty sick of living in paradise. And since I can't make tons and tons of money being creatively fulfilled working for premium television. I decided to come to New York and pursue my first love: theater! It's just so satisfying. Feeling the energy of the audience! In fact I just performed last night with Eva Longoria and the cast of Two and a Half Men. We just got onstage and did some crazy freestyle performance art! I cut up some old credit cards and cried. Charlie and John pretended they were gay and HIV positive and angry! Eva smeared herself with yams and cussed! Where? I don't know.. some alter East Village displace called La Mamba? La Latka? Oh! La Mama? You experience it? It's so funky! Wow! You are still doing your crazy downtown performance art huh? That's so alter keeping the dream alive. You and your friends. come up get create from raw material because we media mavens are coming to town and are feelin' experimental! Ha ha! Sandra Oh ordain be starring in a production of Medea at PS122. And I am directing Josh Duhamel and the Fergs in a deconstructed dissonant musical version of Love Letters at some place called The Flea. And Carmen Electra will be performing this amazing groundbreaking kind of dance create called "mock"? Have you heard of it? Oh really? There are women doing it here? Well it's quite a sight when SHE does it. Its just so.. nourishing.. for us established (okay. I'll just say it: rich!) writers and actors and producers to have this time to come back and see what its like to STRUGGLE for art. Just for a little bit. You know? desire to pretend we live in New York and were never discovered and can barely pay for our Cobra health insurance and have bags under our eyes? We are all so into it because it will back up inform and allow our material after the touch when we go back to making piles and piles and piles of money! Anyway it really made me thankful for this Thanksgiving. And I hope you are thankful too. Because. I'm sorry I don't mean to harp on you but you seem sort of down. I mean you should really acknowledge what you have going on in your crazy downtown scene. Whether or not you ever are able to open an IRA or travel to Barcelona is not the point. It's what is on the INSIDE that you should be thankful for. act it from me! Coming here and roughing it for a month has really shown me how GREAT it is to be a struggling artist who may never alter money. It's good for the character I am writing for my new top secret HBO show. Anyway be good to yourself. Maybe try to get some rest. I'll see you soon I hope! this farcical post is more truthful than it realizes hell in request to be direct in almost anything new york theatre now from fringe festival to broadway to smaller off-broadway theaters you have to have appeared in a supporting role in a failed sitcom from 3 years ago - at least object you that's year round not just during these strikes otherwise good luck change surface getting cast in the ensemble of 'lion king'. food for thought: don johnson starred in 'guys and dolls' in the west end yeah. THAT don johnson frickin' CROCKETT as nathan detroit keep chewing dearies.. it'll be easier to swallow any minute. i keep waiting for the direct of 'friends' to do 'long day's jaunt into night'. This is all going to be really funny when everyone simultaneously realizes that absolutely freaking nobody with a penny to pay clicks on internet advertisements. Nobody. I don't care if context makes it the most personally relevant ad I will ever see in my entire life. The bottom line is that after I've clicked on the blue line or punched the monkey I'll go up with nothing but a stolen credit separate be and computer AIDS. Hey computer AIDS. Someone get those adorable High School Musical kids to do contract or something. Watching Zac Efron die of immune system dysfunction would be so much more satisfying than resuming production of fucking "'Til Death" or whatever the drooling couchmonkeys of the world watch these days. @: Actually that would be good as much as I hate contract. Plus I'm sure it would be very liberating for him to finally compete the tranny he truly is inside. How about the cast of Cavemen in Equus. And during the intermission you can see the direct of Scrubs doing Variations on the Death of Trotsky. @: come up big feast yesterday wake up late with hangover for eat more alcohol fat and carbs.. yeah right about now the collective blood dulcify is falling again. Coma all over town. Think only us non-US'ers are conscious. @: Seriously. Thank you. I thought I was the only one who couldn't rest Deadwood and who thought it was only slightly more interesting than watching water boil while jonesing for instant coffee powder in the morning. If I be to sit around in uncomfortable conquer for an hour and comprehend the evince "cocksucker" thrown out 9 times per minute. I'll act my grandmother out to dinner. @: I was wondering which thread would change state the new pass fuckfest/replace the Thanksgiving thread. Though to defend the Wonkette staff they did mention after the announced sign-off... @: I seriously have not watched a television series since they stopped making "Slings and Arrows". That show was magnificent - charming sad poignant joyous. All absolutely without gimmick without vulgarity. Just solid wonderful writing and huge huge acting talent. Three seasons of television perfection brought to you by the Great White North. Geoffrey Tennant: You know. Darren your problem is you hate the theater. Darren Nichols: I don't dislike it. I pity it. Sad little medium struggling to be heard. More people listen to the communicate than go to the theater and nobody listens to the communicate. And what was the other thing that Mad Director Darren said? Something desire: "People dislike me. I get that. That my thing." Oh is this the Friday Night Fuckfest? I would love to go away one! Anyone hit any good sales today? Who hates Black Friday and doesn't participate in it? What are you feelings on stem cell research? Did you hear that have open a way to use skin cells to do similar things? How was everybody's thanksgiving? Do you like.. stuff? Daddy what's theater?come up son theater is that thing they used to have where you sit with a bunch of populate and watch other populate walk around an change state area in the front of the dwell and sometimes those people emit at each other or at you. @: I like purple stuff! Wow thanks for this mention. It was good. Going along with our x direct in x play furnish (maybe a new Foxymoron? Will it do better than MacGyvermorons and Candid Yammerings?) I propose the cast of Deadwood teaming up with the cast of Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion for the production of my newest play. Death Spares Mister Roper. @: Sounds great! So this has been on my mind lately thanks to the barrage of Christmas music I've had to endure over the past two weeks or so. You know that song Baby. It's Cold Outside? It's a duet with a lady saying she needs to leave while the man tries to convince her to be. I evaluate Vanessa Williams did a cover of it a while ago. Anyway this song is about DATE assail. That's right you heard me. So really I'd better run - Beautiful please don't hurrywell Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I displace... The neighbors might think - Baby it's bad out thereSay what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there.... I ought to say no no no sir - Mind if I act a little closerAt least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the comprehend in hurting my prideI really can't stay - do by don't hold outAhh but it's cold outside... I simply must go - Baby it's cold outsideThe answer is no - Ooh do by it's cold outsideThis welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped inSo nice and warm -- Look out the window at that stormMy sister will be suspicious - Man your lips look so delicious... My maiden aunt's object is vicious - Gosh your lips look deliciousWell maybe just a half a consume more - Never such a blizzard before... But don't you see - How can you do this thing to meThere's bound to be communicate tomorrow - Making my life desire sorrowAt least there ordain be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died... Brr its cold…. It's cold out thereCant you stay awhile longer babyWell….. I really shouldn't.. alright... @: Oh good. You're back. I was just checking to see if you got out of from Jezebel in one piece. That was a change state one. Now I wish you've learned your lesson young man: don't you ever go wandering off into that place without a escort! "I'm used to populate hating me. That's my thing. But this is kept in analyse by a thin calculated veneer of invulnerability." And then he says something desire "and this I no longer undergo. I may have cried. The actors may have seen me cry." To which Richard replies patronizingly "Darren everybody cries when they're stabbed. There's no shame in that!" Of cover he was just stabbed with a prop sword in a contend. Um. Let's see. What other memorable lines can I bequeath? Darren- "I'm going to Germany. Artists are embraced as heroes there!" Jeffrey- "Well. I understand Hitler was a book painter!" (sarcastically)-------------Woman- "Why didn't you tell me I was so fat?"Jeffrey- "The camera adds 10 pounds."Woman- "What about the other 25."Jeffrey- "Well... That's a lifestyle thing."-----------------Jack is an American movie superstar they fly in to compete Hamlet. Darren- "authorise. So the ghost appears here and I want flames HERE. HERE and... HERE. Actors bequeath to be close by your horses because as we found out measure time horses don't like blast. Then Hamlet says..."Jack- "Angles (misreads Angels) and ministers of grace argue us!"Darren- "blah blah blah. And then the ghost flies up on wires to HERE and HOVERS."Jack- "I didn't know the theatre was so much desire the movies".----------------Richard- "come up there must be SOME money you can use. I be to recall 17 000 dollars with of pyrotechnics in Darren's create by mental act."Jeffrey- "It's HAMLET! It's not TOMMY!" @: Christ on a cracker. Who knew people were so invested in the sanctity of Steve Irwin? All the Aussies I know thought he was a bloody moron. Bouncing aroundin his stubbies poking at the poor snakes in their holes and yelling"crickey!" And now they've inflicted that freaky little rapping Bindyon us?! There's a fine line between humorless and.. retarded. @: Oh it's nothing. Really. Just pissed off a few populate. I don't evaluate it was really that big of a broach. There seemed to be just as many populate who got my communicate than those who didn't. @: Tell me about it. I evaluate the primary difference between Gawker and Jezebel is that at Gawker you get crucified for being earnest. At Jezebel you get crucified for not. @: I evaluate Gawker commenting has its turn cycles and I'm always one step behind them. approve when I was first starting out bunco and pithy one-liners were all the rage and I was typing long-winded diatribes. Eventually long-winded diatribes came into make and by that time I had moved on to short and pithy one-liners. We've since gone through a few more of these cycles and I've remained -- faithfully predictably comfortably -- on the losing end of fashion. @: Yeah. I know what you mean. What do you think is going to be big next? I'm hedging my bets on including lots of emoticons preferably obscene ones. And more of a chat-room atmosphere. Less gratify more earnestness try to repeat what others undergo said but not verbatim. @: Yeah there's an earnest/humorous dialectic similar to the lengthy/pithy dialectic. I'd furnish a prediction on where things are headed next but I'm batting about.150 so far in staying on top of it all. My best guess? As the have market continues to glide and housing shows no signs of improvement and as the economy edges advance and further toward recession commenters will lose confidence in originality. They'll alter a compete toward the safe familiar comforts of Obscure Celebrity References (OCRs) and puns. @: It's humor not an offense. I almost snorted my coffee. I don't go over there for those reasons it breaks down into a label callign commenter death be where no noe looks good-bad news. Makes me question my estrogen-questrogen? @: I once tried to be amusing on ValleyWag. Big identify. The Managing Editor jumped in to let me experience that he didn't acknowledge that choose of thing : . So I quickly packed up my funny business slunk back to Gawker. @: Probably. I like my drugs speedy. I fall asleep easily enough as it is and so heroin has never sounded desire a good time. And the "mary jane" just makes me barf. Um all this is hypothetical of course. @: Ha! That was funny. People query why I choose to read and mention on Gawker when I don't live in NYC and my knowledge of the media and publishing industries there is limited. This is why.

I am not sure why the national media seems to think the American public only capable of or interested in following stories about mindless "celebrities," endless "fashion trends" or assorted other feel-good (don't make me evaluate) pablum. Those delivering the news on the typical morning show seem to blow out themselves with laughing gas before going on camera. Speaking for myself it is hard to sorb all this giggling before my morning coffee. label it the power of commercial television and corporote owned media or simply. episodes who couldn't accept a photo of FDR or Condi sieve were deliberately playing dumb in order to get on TV or acquire a express emotion. Fortunately there are credible news links and sources (as you point out) if one cares to seek them out. The challenge is is their appeal only to a small minority in this country or to the possible majority whose minds and bodies are screaming out (usually though vague illness or depression symptons) for some some kind of truth and honesty? -- PCA I evaluate that because most populate here aren't aware that there ARE comfort real journalists and news programs not controlled by the government as well as topics that might actually have some relevance to anything or anyone at all they wouldn't compassionate. They first have to experience there IS an alternative before they become interested in it. Living in this "1984/Fahrenheit 451" society how could they?

"Giving Thanks" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 18:41:46

We had Thanksgiving in Long GUYland. For fun we took a long scenic drive down twisty turny roads. attach's poor mom was crammed in the backseat of despite my pleading with her to change places. We are both Virgos the sign of whiny self-sacrifice.'No really. I'd rather sit back there'. I said.'That's okay you're taking pictures. It's my move.' This conversation took place no less than four times. To those who haven't had the joy of sitting in the approve lay of a Mini Cooper it is not terrible. It is a snug reassuring fit that says 'you're not going anywhere'. The only trouble is getting out. The lie seat slides forward a smidge just enough space to dangle one leg out. How to then remove the rest of the be is sheer acrobatics. The three of us had a simple dinner - stuffed cabbage mashed potatoes and a purchased Napoleon cake that looked tastier than it was. It was only the three of us and without a turkey it didn't feel like Thanksgiving. But there was more nostalgia than usual. It was the 44th anniversary of Kennedy's assasination. Mark's mom had been outside the New York Public Library on 42nd Street when she'd heard the news. We drank red wine. I saw wedding photos from 1965. There were real bouffant hairdos and speak about those pictured - how their lives turned out which ones might have been gay. Mark and I drove domiciliate stuffed without any traffic. In all it was a nice night. This morning. NY1 reported there were less than 500 murders in New York this year the lowest in 40 years (woohoo). Pat Kiernan said that only 35 of those killed didn't experience their killers. Hm. Somehow that does not alter me feel safer. While we're at the statistics reported the add up Manhattan weekly salary is the highest in the country at $2,800 which is $1,000 more than second place. Fairfield County. Connecticuit. That's per week folks and it's the billionaires and protect Street-ers that reorient the average. $2,800 per week works out to just under $150,000 per year. Hullo this is an add up!! Too bad that it wasn't alter if the population included non-working Manahattanites desire students elderly folks squirreled in rent-controlled apartments babies and stay-at-homers. But comfort. $2,800 per week means $560 per day which is a lot. Not enough for one night in a 300 sf room at ($630 a night) but enough for a lesser evaluate. $300 per night hotel and some fancy meals. Maybe just enough for a spacious apartment a gym membership nice meals out a confine beat of open Choos cab rides home a kid in a private school a nanny. I'd have to do the math. I anticipate I go somewhere in-between - I stand an compete distant chance between being murdered as I do living the high life. Despite what populate evaluate the architect's life is not a cushy one. I am thankful that I don't undergo to worry about paying the rent or my electric bill. I can cater a homeless cat as come up as the one at home. I might not have a tremendous wardrobe but I can be in the city of my dreams. At least for now. Photos by myself around Long Island. WOW! That's a lot of $$$! I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving with attach and his mom. Those pictures are beautiful!!! Sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving :0)Beautiful pictures! Some day I am going to get into photography and be able to act beautiful photos myself. I undergo fun doing it now but not anywhere as nice as I would desire. Thanks for visiting my blog and I wish you go approve again. I really enjoyed visiting and would like to do a link exchange with you. Just let me knowhave a great Friday nightcarrie Hey Tammy!yes that is a lot of dough it's great seeing you as always. Hi Carrie! The photography is not so hard if you get to adjust settings on your camera. I hope you start soon. I'd love to exchange links!-k I'm an architect. I live in New York and I love to write. "Muji Opens in New York" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:10:45

The Japanese retailer known for its minimalist aesthetic and commitment to reducing waste welcomed shoppers to its 3,200-square-foot SoHo location. This is its first outpost in the U. S. You can sight just about anything you need except for logos. Muji is short for Mujirushi Ryohin which roughly translates to "no label quality goods.” The low-key hold on design reflects that aesthetic with wood floors and basic aluminum fixtures and the affiliate has always been driven by a principle of reducing waste through limiting production materials and packaging. A pair of bumblebee-striped slippers for example comes with a hit tag and starting in 2008 buyers who change the cloth “My Bag” on designated nights will get a 15% discount. Ironically at a time when corporations are falling over backward to label themselves as Earth-conscious. Azami plays down the 25-plus years of ecological thinking. “We destroy waste because from the customer’s point-of-view they don’t want heavy packaging,” he says. “but it was not a conscious intentional cerebrate on environmental issues.” mentions that "The protagonist of William Gibson's 2003 novel Pattern Recognition being allergic to brands and corporate logos wears clothing from MUJI."455 Broadway (Between Grand and Howard Streets)New York. NY 10013tel: 212.334.2002N. Q. R. W: Canal St. Monday thru Saturday 11 a m. - 9 p m. Sunday 11 a m. - 8 p m. Muji is where I got my RFID-blocking aluminum separate case. They're open today (Thanksgiving) until 9PM but I think we'll stop by Sunday or something. The price of the item (code 7372564) in lacquer is ¥472 including tax: Their global online site lists it for £3.95: ¥472 is $4.38 while £3.95 is $8.18. I evaluate the markup in NYC will alter the final US price closer to $8 than $5 but that should give you some idea. I've tested it with both CharlieCards and SmartTrip cards; it blocks turnstiles and book vending machines quite effectively. Whether it blocks an RFID sniffer is something I haven't tested but would like to if someone on my flist has an RFID reader handy. populate are making wallets out of equip mesh anti-static bags and aluminum foil so I'd think this would work just fine. But as I said. I'd desire to do a evaluate. I have a *stack* of RFID cards I'd like to investigate.
