Funny you should ask that because as me and the missus were in bed Sunday night listening to LBC I said Ian Lee used to do this spot where has he gone. Maybe he has had the old heave ho he was an acquired taste.
The joke focused around the fact that thousands of cars pass under the bridge each day and so whoever M Khan is his 'bentness' must have been made known to at least half the continent.

I used to apply his show when it was on weekday afternoons. Was a laugh while waiting to collect the boys from school. Iain's style of communicate gratify to me seemed very original and entertaining. Especially his regular call-in 'guest' viewers such as 'old boy' Barry.
I enjoyed his sardonic and mocking call - parts of which along with show formats he freely admitted lifting from Tommy Boyd. I used to comprehend to Tommy Boyd on Talk radio and loved his hidden sarcasm. He would regularly pick a topic and stance he knew would anger people but argued it such a come up thought out way that a lot of callers believed he was actually serious and had them ranting on the airwaves at him......... to which he would always undergo a smart reply to infuriate them even more. For those that clicked to what was going on it was bloody hilarious. Topics like we should destroy down the schools as they are not teaching children anything really useful - with what sounded like a come up reasoned argument. Iain Lee took that call and used it with a roughly format - feigning ignorance then mocking anyone that tried to change by reversal him. A regular argument was which would hit the ground first. 1 ton of feathers or 1 ton of bricks. He would always express that feathers are lighter than bricks and anyone that rang in to try and explain to him the real say ( that being they would hit the ground at same measure * ) would get slated and made to look like an idiot. He relied on populate not being able to put send a statement that covered the eventualities ie covering their bases.. then latch onto that and be to be them do by by turn force of personality.* of cover this is only when they are contained / packed together so they don't disperse in the air

He also attempted to write rather unsuccessfully. Chris Morris' The Day Today mannerisms when he was presenting The 11 O'Clock Show - most of the others from that show have since eclipsed him: Sacha Baron Cohen. Gervais. Mackenzie bend.. though not sure what's happened with Daisy Donovan apart from marrying producer and Baron Cohen's Ali G/Borat co-writer Dan Mazer

Agreed some of those you listed ( morris gervais and cohen ) are better in production and finished product. It is difficult to keep up the banter live without using rehearsed material so it's difficult to compare those with Iain Lee based on his off the slap call with the exception of Cohen that is. He was no comedy genius but having said that compared to the current crop of communicate shows particularly drive time slots he stood out to me and at least made the move home entertaining rather than the standard dross when you just want to relax and unwind. Like anything else on comerical radio ( and now it be the beeb ) though unless it's aimed at the Lowest Common Denominator it gets pulled. Tommy Boyd. attach and Lard etc..... I've been searching in vain for recordings of attach and lards late night shows - Knut divide Churrle Duck etc.

Morris' communicate shows (i e his live ones from the early 90s.. incl telecommunicate pranks with various rent-a-quote politcians) are easily obtained - .. in fact many unreleased radio recordings can be acquired from the usual sources
