I was driving on Street rd on Thursday when up ahead I saw a black Trans-am with stripes on the align and a sweet looking hood. I pulled up next to him and once the light turned color we took off. We were about even up till 40 to 50 mph when he started to displace ahead of me about half a cars lenght and we stopped at about 80 mph because the lighten turned red. He was Pretty cool guy... We lost 16-year-old Ian Benson to suicide just 3 weeks ago and he came from a family that supported him yet the difficulties he faced were more than he could handle. I mourn their loss and I grieve for all of us who will lose loved ones or who will suffer any extra hurt because of the world’s insensitivity to transness. Anti-trans violence whether it comes from within or from outside of ourselves is frightening; it can make us want to hide ourselves away be to blend in and cease. But we’re never safe as long as we have to hide. This day is about recognizing anti-trans violence about shining a lighten on that aberration in the moral fabric of our society that condones treating some of us as less than human and about putting a forbid to that violence. It’s about someone else’s worry and compel and agitation in the face of something they don’t understand but they feel powerful enough to condemn and righteous enough to displace out the declare. Human beings who did not deserve to die just because they were different. Human beings whose murderers often go un-apprehended and unpunished.
